The Mane 6 catch what they all think is a simple stomach bug, but things are not as they seem. Overnight, 6 dark trees sprout in and around Ponyville, sending the citizens into a panic, and no body can seem to find any of the Bearers of the Elements. Just to make things worse, soon after a variety of weird changeling subspecies start popping out of the odd trees, only making the panic worse!
And yet, these Changelings seem not to be aggressive? It's still very worrying though, let alone how they all keep talking about their Queens. Hopefully the princesses can handle this!

I hope Mayor Mare realizes that the locations of the trees is the same as where each of the Mare six live. I can't wait for the names of the other three Lings is discovered. I'm interested in seeing how Applejack's family react to seeing her in her hive's gestation pod.
Well it seems like Rarity's subjects are quite good at disguises and it does explain why her pod was growing outside of Ponyvile and not at her business.

Hmmm...if the Brightlings favorite emotion is Loyalty then that would mean the Bravelings would have Honesty and the Joylings would have Laughter. Interesting that the Queens had that kind of effect on them.
Welp, you've got me interested so far. I'm curious how the mane 6 will be mentally when they emerge. Will they be mostly unchanged? Will they be normal but have new changeling instincts? Or will their previous selves be more like an echo in their new Queen psyches? Then if the story continues far enough there is how the alicorns and Chrysalis will react. I like the possibilities.
Leave it to Twilight's Changeling to quickly shift into research mode once born. I can already see a few of them pinching Twilight's lab coats to wear over their body. Still it is interesting to see how the Hive Mind catagorizes Spike as a princeling which is probably the closest description to Twilight and Spike's relationship in their new born minds. Also once again seeing their diet includes the Element their queen represents. I had a feeling it was either that or Friendship.
I always did really like the interpretation of Spike being Twilight's brother, so him being seen as a prince makes me happy
This is really pretty good, intriguing story so far. Suddenly, Ponyville's residents seem to increase several times within one day. I already pity Mayor Mare for the upcoming mountains of paperwork.

It's more like a magical ward or protection on Zecoras home, one that prevents any magic that isn't keyed into it from being used. Well, it's a bit more complicated than that, but it's not something that Scootaloo would know, so I just hinted at the function of it.

The Kindlings seem to be more in touch with their emotions and I'm a bit surprised that a few would venture out to meet with Zecora. I was thinking they would be spending a lot of their time tending to all of Fluttershy's animals. Then again that might be what most of them are doing anyway.
Is this horror story?... I've only just started this story, yet I already have the biggest grin on my face.

I would go both for that....man when you think about this Ponyvelle is going to have the biggest army and guards you can see
Ok ok so far we have Bravelings being honest and hard working,
Jestlings being funny and like jokes for laughter.
The dragonfly ones (don't remember there names) being loyal,
The friendlings being magic and science
Rarity's being good at copying things (still don't have a name for them)
And last now Kindlings being emotional little goobers...huh nice choices I kinda want more of this
