Same universe, same timeline. Therefore connected.
.

Just wanna briefly mention you can indicate it as a sequel by putting the prequel's URL in the "sequel URL" field when editing the story

Oh damn. I never knew that, thank you

"I heard Starlight mention you got a huge book delivery, mainly mythology. You mind if I borrow some?"
"I'll take as many human ones you got, please." Lyra requested.

Or you can take the literal portal to the Human World not ten feet away from you. Joking aside, good read.

"Maybe an advanced version of Cherry Berry's balloon." She offered. She shuffled the book around. "There's no picture of it, but that's my best guess."

"Or maybe the balloon is an advanced version of this plane." Bon Bon retorted.

Eh, depends on how you look at it. I'd personally argue that the classic passenger airship (arguably a form of balloon) is superior to the modern passenger plane, in the sense that you could ride it in actual comfort, enjoyment, and honest to gosh elbow room...whenever they weren't crashing, spontaneously bursting into flames, or otherwise self-destructing of course, which is where the argument of the plane being superior instead starts coming in. :rainbowlaugh:

Twilight isn't stupid enough to let knowledge she even has a portal to another world be known I'd think. Let alone where it goes.

Well if the goal is to get from Point A to Point B as quickly as possible, the slowest plane ever built would fly circles around the fastest zeppelin.

Absolutely true, but at what cost? I wouldn't call today's plane rides exactly luxurious. It's more like a bus ride that flies, only it costs way more than what it should considering what you get for that price.

Meanwhile, flying on an airship back in the day was more like riding on a luxury cruise ship...that flies. Don't tell me you can't still see the massive amount of appeal in that. :raritywink: So personally, I'd rather take the airship if it was still an option today, even if it was slower, because then at least I could enjoy the experience, y'know?

Sadly, the aforementioned crashing, spontaneously bursting into flames, or otherwise self-destructing criticisms for airships are all valid reasons why they AREN'T still a thing today...otherwise I'd like to think they would still be a thing today for that very reason. And it's a large part of the reason why there are still a lot of entrepreneurs who are trying to figure out a way to make them a thing yet again, even now.
