Well, the downvote brigade hit ya, as it does most first-time vore writers. Hope it's not too discouraging, cause I like the start of this.
"Ascension through Digestion/Absorption" is one of my favorite vore-headcanons, and the casual fatal is pretty hot. Only thing more I'd like to see is a little more figure-filling out from Sunset's predation, but that's just me; I like preds with big plots.
I’m not into vore but I might follow this if it has a good story.
The writing is good and it is admirable that you wrote the story you wanted to have.

I've inured myself to their closed-minded self-righteousness. So, they can hate as much as they want.
As for filling out goes, I've personally never been a big fan of it. Still, I don't fault you for it. And who knows? Maybe I can be persuaded...?

Like I said, it's a matter of my own tastes and attractions; why shouldn't Sunset be as sexy as an alicorn as well as powerful? Growing up around Princess Celestia must have imprinted a hell of a complex on a mare like her. As evidenced by resorting to this method, for that matter.
That said, given that she's sucking out so much magical energy, one could see her burning a lot of energy very quickly, so additions may be temporary, if you're not a fan of indefinite gains, which I don't fault you for (don't like obesity myself).

I don't think you can call this soft vore when in the first chapter, Sunset painfully digests the two ponies inside her. Painful digestion is always hard vore

Hm...possibly. in my personal experience, hard vore involves stuff like chewing and crushing the victim(s) while still in the mouth.
Even if I edited out the digestion part, it would've still happened regardless. Besides, it's not like I went deep and exquisite details of what was happening, how and why. But I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree.

Well there is digestion in soft vore but it's usually pleasurable or at the very least doesn't feel like much.
It's the little bits of realism like sunset thinking about suffocating them or mentioning how it'd be a painful end with the digestion that pushes it over into hard vore territory.
