I want to see the political concecuense of gregory on tartarus
The griffons have witnessed ponies banishing Gregory to what amounts to hell, they will cry out for pony blood and they will get it. One way or another.
It's been a long while since last chapter, I'm really shocked with how everything turned out.
Firstly on a light note, holy hell did Gabby become more forward with Gregory. They've only just recently confessed their mutual romantic feelings for each other & already she's begging for some dick š¤£
Gracie finally reveals that she's Ocellus & this is gonna be very awkward & given Rarity's reaction, it's gonna be a very long talk about prejudice & learning to let go of hate. I mean she saved ya'll lives! If that diamond bitch continues to act like one even after all that, there's no saving her. She don't wanna be saved!
Now on a more serious note, Lady is clearly the most reasonable of the spies sent by Equestria & definitely seems like she's just doing what's she told for what people are telling her is the right reason. I actually feel for her even if she's an accomplice.
Now Dusty & that other bitch of a mare gotta be dealt with no doubt!
Sending Gregory to Tartarus is gonna come back to bite Equestria in the ass! If they thought Jason & Gregory teaming up would be bad, they just gave the greenlight for Jason to really fuck up shit for hurting another one of his fellow man TWICE! He's gonna feel justified in burning Equestria & anything connected with it to the damn ground!
Then you got the griffins & dragons who Gregory has connections & friendships with! It's on sight for the ponies man!
Gilda or Gabby is straight up going to KILL Dusty! That is something I hope to see! š¤£ but if not that's cool too, just make sure the fool gets his & I'll be good!
Fuck.

Well, one, Jason will sound the war drums, which the griffons will join once this gets out. I can see the Storm King attacking soon after the war starts. As why not? Equestria will be invaded and beaten soundly cus they are in no position to fight a war, especially not one like what Jason will wage.
I heard the call of the Gjallarhorn and it brought me to a damn cliffhanger! Also, what the actual hell Rarity? You let them do this bullshit. Not that it matters, people break out of Tatarus every week. I hope. Jason is not going to like this.
Been getting tired of seeing Spike's teen angst grow with bitterness and resentment. Glad to see he's finally done something useful instead of just throwing insults every 5 seconds.
Iām hoping they get a harsh punishment for this, an example needs to be set, Celestia canāt be hooves off with it anymore. Freeze bank accounts, seize assets, dust off the jailer keys. But thereās something elseā¦. Dusky sounds like he has a personal vendetta hereā¦ makes me think thereās more to this than fear, money, and orders. Perhaps this is a cycle of hate situationā¦.
Very very well written chapter! I really enjoyed it. The start and finish with the interaction of the dictionary definitions of the Nor'wester and Tartarus was a really nice touch. Celestia and the elements doing their best to help was a nice, showing that even when they're in the depressed state that they're in they're still ready to go and help others.
This is going to be troble. Jason and the griffons will be furious, but this time Celestia will be on their side. I'm sure there will be a lot of suspicion placed on Celestia and the elements, but I think Gregory's friends have calm enough minds to see past whatever initial suspicions they have.
The real question is what will happen to Gregory and how will Jason react. Although, it seems the Gjallarhorn is on the move again. Unless I'm forgetting how it worked exactly
11516385
He has done more than that. He has been warming up to Celestia and the two of them have gotten closer in recent chapters.
11516328
That would be quite interesting to read about!
Oh plenty of ponies will suffer for this sht storm, no matter what motivation they have. Hooves will roll for this: death is an easy escape from consequences hereā¦
Hoo boy, if things weren't tense before, it's really gonna pop off now. I hope Celestia finds a way to get him out of there before a war breaks out. Hell of a cliffhanger, mate; I eagerly/nervously look forward to whatever comes next. This is getting too good.
Well, looks like Gregory's off on a brand new adventure in a whole new land, with two ponies in tow! Can't say I'm too concerned with him being a permenant resident there, humans are nothing if not tenacious and I'm pretty sure he'll find a way out before all's said and done. Wondering who he's gonna meet there. I mean, sure, I don't doubt that plenty of wrong-doers who deserved it call Tartarus their home, but if ponykind's recent actions are anything to go by, I wouldn't doubt that there's probably a few innocents trapped there too.
All that being said, this whole fiasco's gonna be a straight up political nightmare. Equestrian terrorists have more or less banished a sovereign ruler of a nation, who was beloved by its citizens, to the equivalent of Hell without due process of any kind all because of their deep-seated racism and because their ruler was too much of a coward to set an example for her people and draw the line on what is and isn't acceptable to others. Now Celestia and the Elements are gonna have to contend with not only an outraged nation of griffins, but also from a likely very incensed king of the changelings who was trying to keep Gregory safe from their ilk.
Whatever happens next, this is gonna be fun!
Oh my holy god, that horn is probably an indicator of incoming calamity. Jason. Will. Be. Furious.
And he won't be the only one. The Griffons and the Dragons are probably going to lose their shit. I wonder, would Jason join his forces with theirs to form a multinational coalition?
Good heavens, imagine if this coalition descended on Canterlot in fire and fury and crashed the Storm King invasion?
One thing is certain. Its going to be a New Ending 2: Electric Boogaloo.
Nice reference to the Gjallarhorn.
And an excellent chapter all around. Don't worry, this didn't break your story. I am interested in seeing how they will journey through Tartarus, or how their friends may enter Tartarus themselves, seeing that it is an actual place they can visit.
11516332
Considering this could be considered an act of war and with all the creatures he brought into his nation and made peace with this could be the start of a world War. The changelings aren't going take this news well because their human wanted all humans in that world safe. He going to say this just shows that ponies hate anything not a pony.
The drums for war/justice shall begin once Jason hears what happened to Gregory and this could be his greatest justification to use against Equestria.
And if another invasion happens? I have a feeling the Griffons (and perhaps the Dragons) will join alongside the Changelings in full retribution for the loss of their beloved Chancellor.
I also would not be surprised if the other races could also use what happened to Gregory as a final nail in the coffin to permanently cut ties with Equestria or even join the Changelings (and Griffons) out of fear of what (the now obviously xenophobic) Equestria would do to them if given the time and opportunity.
Also I know it might be cruel or petty, but does anyone else think that maybe Rarity deserves to be there? Maybe not forever but enough to realize how messed up she is. I can see the moment they go to leave that place, and Cerberus stops her from leaving because in his mind, she belongs there.
The best that Celestia can do at this point is just throw all those responsible to the wolves, and use them as an example of what happens to those who let prejudice overtake them.
Well, you dun fucked up ponies. I see a high possibility of round two at Equestria on the Horizon.
11516605
Agreed. I mean, come on. Even I noticed her eye movement. Also, given their situation, I can only imagine this exchange happening in the next chapter:
Gregory: (yelling, to Rarity) YOU ARE THE FRIENDSHIP PROBLEM!! (Calm, but barely contained tone) That is the reason why there is no friendship problem to be found in Griffonstone...because that problem is standing right in front of me! (saddened) You haven't shown an ounce of generosity since you got here!
Looking forward to the next chapter. š
11516474
You said it yourself, they're terrorists. It won't be easy, but this is major for Celestia and Luna! They have the perfect opopportunity to find the noble responsible for this, strip him of his title, imprison him and the terrorists and condemn their actions.
They can take advantage of this situation and improve. But Celestia and Luna would have to take action and not just stand by and coddle the ponies, something that has already been pointed out to her earlier in the story.
This can actually be a redemption arc for Celestia and the ponies.
War is definitely on the table now. Taking advantage of, or even causing a disaster to abduct/ wrongfully imprison/ murder(? Residents of Tartarus are expected to die in there, assuming it's not an eternal prison) a foreign government official because he's a human.
Reasonable suspicion for terrorism.
Multiple counts of property damage and endangerment.
Abduction.
Intent to turn everyone against Gregory, I'm sure given the context, that's a crime as well.
Treason, having imprisoned Rarity as well.
Unless Celestia and Luna unfuck this quickly and ensure everyone knows exactly what provoked Jason's invasion since some refuse to believe it while others downplay it to bullying, Equestria will most likely be defending itself against three different countries/ races, one of which has a talent for toppling a government in a day.
11516575
I don't think she's evil enough to belong there, but I think her being in Tartarus can be a great wakeup call.
oops
Honestly the level of racism equestria is exhibiting at this point puts even humanity to shame because racism is frowned upon in our society.
11516395
You are, the Gjallarhorn is the literal holy representation of peace in this universe (if we're to assume another recent fic of Jason is anything to go by, which given the reference and disappearance, it's probably canon) and its properties force peace by causing whatever to happen to the blower to instead happen to the attacker, however, it can only be wielded by those who seek nothing but peace, even if that peace is getting vengeance through courtroom legal means (referencing the fic again), by it disappearing, peace is dead, and there is no hope.
War in inevitable, Equestria is about to burn, and depending on how Jason feels and the anger of others, I dare say in the worst case scenario, a genocide is about to occur.
Gregory isn't locked in with them
They're locked in with HIM
Well, then... if this isn't an act of war, I don't know what is...
Lock the remaining two ponies up with Ocellus. Anything she does to them is justified.
11516797
And yet there are still those that choose to practice it openly
11516877
I never said we were perfect and need I remind you that Equestria has guys like Neighsay so are they any better really?
New low for the ponies, taking advantage of a domestic disaster (or perhaps causing it...) to get to Gregory without Celly-belly in the way.
Not nearly as convinced of the severity of their solution as I feel I'm supposed to be.
I get that this is supposed to be really awful, but the series has taught us that Tartarus is more of a plot device than an actually permanent prison.
We know Gregory will be out of there very soon, hopefully with the others and hopefully unharmed.
And they'll be pissed.
To say nothing of Jason's likely reaction...
Poor princesses are gonna have a grueling struggle to clean up after this. Guess they shouldn't have put if off for so long.
Why am I not surprised to find Starswirl the dumbass is partly to blame for this?
Also I really, REALLY hope the trio of stupid just took advantage of the branch collapse and didn't actually cause it, because then there probably won't be any stopping a war.
11516394
I expect weāll find out. Could be an old family history thing (āThe humans of Nova America were monsters who did horrible things to my ancestors! Weāll never forgive them!ā) or, perhaps more likely, something that happened during Jasonās attack that bit him or somepony he cared for personally. Good olā xenophobia and āall X are the same!ā thinking would then do the rest.
I wonder if my boy Jason will keep his former moral code of no killing (except discord) or instead of killing mass taking ponies to become love food battery's either way by the end of this story I don't see much of a good end for most of pony kind I'm excited to see where the hat falls
Yeah Jason is gonna wipe Equestria clean off the map
11517167
If they were responsible for the branch, all of Griffonstone will be screaming for blood. Serenity is in Tartarus, who'll be interrogating the other two? Celestia needs to be kept away from them, lest she engage in some kind of cover-up which, lets be fair, she's totally capable of doing despite her recent changes in worldview.
As for Starswirl the Bearded Blatherskite, someone needs to burn that bastards books and records pertaining to things "not-pony" because they're likely as accurate as last months tabloids, only useful as toilet paper. God, he and the other pillars need a good kicking if we ever see them. Poor Stygian.....You know, I think he'd feel an affinity with Jason, someone who'd understand how he felt and, unlike him, successfully had their revenge. How much you wanna bet part of the reason Stygian got thrown out wasn't just because of his borrowing of their artifacts but also because he saw non-ponies as equals rather than as inferiors and this view grated on the Pillars nerves?
Inb4 Tartarus is now befriended by Gregory.
I suspect this is a great location for the two humans to meet one another, surely Jason will hear about this and find a way inside to speak with a fellow human.
I don't think they will see eye to eye after a short conversation as Jason might want to slaughter all and Gregory will want to... Not do that.
At least until Gregory mentions he's managed to make a friend in Celestia. I don't want it to make Jason flip 180 and be a good human again, but it would help focus his attention and weeding out the problematic ponies instead of condemning the entire race.
You know I just thought of something: Will Gregory run into Tirek in there? That'd be a really interesting conversation to have. I'm also wondering if Jason and/or Chrysalis or someone else from the Changeling Council will come to rescue them once they hear about what happened
After reading the latest chapter and the comments, I just realized something: they also banished Rarity along with Gregory and Serenity.
Rarity; The Element of Generosity, a National heroine, and one of Equestriaās first line of defense.
They didnāt just possibly ignite a war between Equestria and Griffonia.
They also committed High Treason against Equestria.
And from what I learned, High Treason (at least in human terms) is punishable by death.
Damn. What a chapter. I NEED to know how Jason will react to this. Will he team up with the ponies to go save his fellow human? Will the galahorn somehow save him? So many options. Oooh I can't wait for the next chapter.
Oh boy, things couldn't be more fucked than they are now.
The Griffons and by extension at least some Dragons will be beyond pissed - with relations and opinions towards Equestria at an all time low this may rapidly escalate to war.
And Jason... oh boy... he might have been struggling on how to feel towards Equestria (some wounds go deep) but the - essentially an assassination - of another human might very well push him in the "Equestria is rotten to the core and must be broken" territory...
Are we sure Gregory doesn't have "Franz Ferdinand" as surnames?
I'm interested in what Gracie/Ocellus will do once Jason makes his now-inevitable debut in the story.
Is she going to vouch for Celestia and the EoH that they weren't involved with the attack on Gregory, on account of Celestia trying to warn him and his friends of the danger? Or is she going to hold on to her prejudices against ponies (the EoH especially) and throw them under the bus anyway, and blame them for the cycle of human xenophobia they started? I feel whatever her stance ends up being will be pretty impactful once Jason starts to make his move.
Sometimes you have to let your kids learn a lesson the hardwayā¦ maybe Celestia should let Ponykind learn where their xenophobia and hate leads them? I kind of have a feeling the nobility especially are detached from the consequencesā¦
11516605
Better option. Have every pony involved -directly or even slightly supportive of - sent to the chopping block along with their spouse and offspring. Placates the other nations, finally cleans up her government, and as a bonus gives ponies plenty of incentive to start policing themselves.
You can't fix idiots, bigots, or psychopaths. However you can turn everyone else against them with the application of fear.
11518057
Nah, going WAY too far. That would just make the ponies/races involved in that decision MONSTEROUS, and would do nothing but fuel even MORE hatred towards non-ponies. Enough to the point where the Windigos would come back and wipe EVERYTHING out.
11517608
The way sheās been described so far, Iād expect her to try to stay as objective as possible. As an unquestionably loyal intelligence asset of her āEmperorāsā, making sure he has as accurate a picture of the situation as possible to base his decisions upon is basically her duty and I donāt see her shirking that easily just because she has a low opinion of Celestia and the Mane Six.
Besides, tossing false accusations about? Ick, thatās such a pony thing to do! Surely an honest āling can be better than that!
