There’s also the myriad Nazi beatings that could be dolled out and what each individual form of Nazi beating could imply. Applejack just casually beating them denotes it to be a regular if annoying infestation. Curb-stomping Nazis, branding them with swastikas and brutalising scores of them obviously denotes passion eg, Inglorious Basterds or Indiana Jones. I’d compare Applejacks tone-setting more to Blues Brothers’, Nazi Bridge. Where sure there’s disgust and vindicated justice, but the Nazis sadly aren’t ran down but instead ran off.
Of course there’s another form of Nazi beating, completely on the other end of the spectrum. The type done by Wehraboos and Neo-Nazis everywhere. Though it’s not so much a tone setter as it is authorial suicide.
