Whoa there buddy, did you just have guards/soldiers seize a representative in a consulate? And demand information from said representative? That's a diplomatic disaster waiting to happen, right there.
Why it's bad?
It looks like griffons want independence,so I think he shouldn't help Equestrians in that.
Maybe give tip to the griffons on what to do , like not going to the war with Equestria ,what government to create ,laws, etc
He should have flashbacks of similarities to USSR occupying countries behind Iron Curtain, who had to fight for freedom, like Poland ?
All other races have their own countries and rule by themselves, why not them too?
Why they should bow to ponies?
I love the story it was nicely pace and nothing seem like it was overly explain. The only think is I wish I could read more

It all depends on perspective, doesn't it? It'll make some interesting next chapters.
Great chapter. Here is were the fun starts and the heavy work will begin.
Jacks Ammo will dry up fast soon... He needs to replicate his ammo or better learn to use local firearms...
10541633
It very much can be but since it and the representative were attacked they have cause and reason to seize the building
Had to read this sentence a couple of times to understand it.
Due to how it is worded, the 1st time I interpreted it as "Although Rainbow declined, I took a cup for her anyways"
The 2nd time I interpreted it as "Since Rainbow declined, I took her cup"
It took me reading the sentence a 3rd time to understand that you meant "While Rainbow declined, I accepted a cup from Princess Celestia"
Welp, the shitstorm's definitely broke over Equestria.
How much does anyone want to bet the Canterlot Weather Factory gets the blame for this one, too?
Open Skies: "Say, what!? "
10541633
Eeyup, that's bad voodoo right there.
10541646
Agreed, they should be allowed to be independent, but i feel a referendum should be held in the areas occupied by griffins so that they, the people, make that choice and not some extremist minority
10541730
That depends on if the author is even going to have an ammo tally in the first place, as some authors choose not to do so for one reason or another
10542187
He kinda set a rough ammo amount. If Equestrian cant supply him than he will run dry rather sooner than later.
10542208
ill say that its almost feasible for him to find a way to create black powder projectiles. urine/manure and/or dead bodies gets you saltpeter, or you can mine it from the earth. combine that with charcoal(made 'naturally') and sulfur(maybe from brimstone from the dragons) and you essentially have black powder.
the lee-metford is an interesting example of a black powder cartridge firearm with a magazine size of greater than 1 round.
...or twiggles can use science help him create nitrocellulose to make single-base smokeless gunpowder. i dunno tho.
10542183
Yep, the author will be stepping on a thin ice if mc will help Equestria in the repression of griffons.
I hope he will change sides
Also, I hope that the author won't try to hide, abandon this problem my making, showing ponies as "fair overlords", and griffons liking it, and griffons wanting independence as scapegoats, to us readers, like some propaganda, so we won't raise these issues
10542187
10542208
I have a rough ammo count in my notes, plenty left for a good shootout, maybe two if you're a bit more conservative.
10535599
More like 'fall with style'
10541646
Probably because they cant. I could think of many reasons. Corruption because of greed for ones.
Lack of good leadership that rather put themself before the nation.
Most times violent groups cant see to use common logic or/and bitch about whats wrong but cant get things right themself ones they have the chance. Im almost 100% sure they want war so they dont have to trade. Stealing is easyer.
10541633
After there Citizen bomb citys? After saving there ass just moments ago? Jack is a Griffon so... Yeah.
10542183
Ones that is archived the radical group kills of the peaceful factions and go full on war against non Griffons. Great...
10542824
That doesn't make things better. Embassies and consulates are explicitly set up so that this sort of thing doesn't happen. They're considered sovereign to the nation they represent, and sending soldiers in without permission is pretty much either a declaration of war or of severely worsening diplomatic conditions. It also sets precedent, a sort of "if you can do it then so can I," and suddenly embassies are no longer safe places for citizens in foreign nations to flee to if they get in trouble with the locals.
And no, having a single Griffin alongside them in the invasion of the embassy does not make things better, as said griffin is a citizen of Equestria. You'd have more room to argue saying that he wasn't a member of the guard/army, but that's still pretty shaky given that he was working closely with them.
10542860
In general yes. Than consider this: red Claw members attacked this place there for declaring war on there own gavourment. And almost successful pulling it off.
I doubt the Griffons will object this time for saving there feathers. Next time might be different but this time they aid there ally in a life or death situation. Strictly speaking your right but practical i doubt the will see it that way.
10542923
It's not just the Griffons. It's anybody with an embassy in Equestria who might be opposed to Equestria sending in soldiers with a trumped up reason and then forcing their diplomats to cooperate. It's anybody who might not agree with Equestria's policies now having a very good reason insist on not conducting diplomatic meetings or relations in Equestria itself. And because Equestria's done it, they've also opened the door for other nations to do it to them, with their own "good reasons". That is, if anyone actually believes the story of "Griffin nationalists attack griffin embassy in Equestria". It's a bit far fetched to anyone outside of the situation.
And if the people in the embassy itself weren't going to show gratitude for the help right after the attack, what are the chances that the people who weren't even there or the immediate target of the attack (namely, the people who actually make all the big decisions) will?
10542941
Lets agree that we disagree. I see your point of view itsnt wrong but i dont see it in black and white. This is a thick gray here.
The ones now in Griffon Empire/Kingdome and Equestria will go after Red Claw members.
They have proven to be a treat to both and need to be made a example out to warn future groups to mess with mayor powers.
10542822
Of course it's greed in a way, it's always is in some part
Any independence is created from a part of greed and pride of people beceause it's freedom in general
You can't ask for independence to other nation thinking they will give you it.
The only times nations did that is when they don't need it and it creates a small neighboring country they don't have to worry about or when they do that to other countries, their neighbor, creating a country from their territory, which weakens them
Resistance has to fight.
They can't spread fear in their territory, to their own people, beceause it would be pointless.
So they do that to Equestrian soldiers occupying, staying in their country, territory and soldiers away in Equestria
Like resistance movements in WW2, they have to spread fear in enemy ranks.
Killing officers, destroying military buildings, stealing resources like food and weapons, etc
And in general tiring out enemy forces and population, to giving up, when for them it's not worth it .
A normal pony citizen won't care for griffons and why Equeatria even occupy them, he will just rather give them their territory back to return to his normal life
That's why democracy, parliaments, councils, etc are used

Lets lighten up the moon...
Damn... this is getting good 😗
Held.
New tears.
10542949 Not to be rude, but this situation isn't exactly being portrayed as black and white. What Syroc is saying is all very real and true for situations like this - take it from one who has researched these subjects for years. I firmly believe the author should expand so as to address all this, and furthermore, this particular story requires some expansion and a bit more thought anyhow. For instance, Jack's freak-out seemed far too spur of the moment. It was understandable given his hinted at past, yes, but still too spur of the moment in feel, and it could have been used elsewhere and at a far better time. Celestia's reaction to it afterwards could have been expanded and lengthened as well.
Then, there is this chapter, where Jack, a soldier from another country essentially just foresook his oath to his own by swearing himself into another's armed forces. That is unprecedented, and should have been far more panned out and given far more thought by Jack, especially given his countenance in previous chapters.
All in all, I'd say this story requires more expansion and a little bit more time spent researching these subjects before just posting chapters about them willy nilly.
HOWEVER. That is not to say the story is not good or well-done. It is just to say that it could use more work, just as every story, no matter how good, does. I do quite like this story and it's premise, but I cannot deny that many of it's subjects do desperately need expanding on and that the author needs to do more research on these subjects before hand.
Not much of a draft if he has to agree/volunteer for it.
This is really good.
new tears? also was that auto translated?
there it is! PTSD
This story needs work. It's good, I like it, but it needs work; like pace, editing, and pace. I don't even know what nation this soldier is from. Is he from America? Britain? Ireland?

I cannot be completely certain as the clues provided seem a bit scattered and vague, but I suspect Jack is Canadian. Some of his gear is all over the place, such as his Glock 17 sidearm, and his Accuracy International AWM sniper rifle, while his Maroon Beret is pretty universal to most army paratrooper corps.
However, two details in particular stand out to me. Jack's cap brass (the unit insignia pin on his beret) appears to feature a stiletto dagger, which is an important symbol to certain American and Canadian special forces units. But more telling I think, is his his C7A2 assault rifle, a Canadian made derivative of the M16A3, and the standard issue rifle of the Royal Canadian Army.
Edit: I was wrong, the story's title is indeed the critical clue. It's not Latin as I had erroneously assumed, it is Polish; and only one military unit uses it as their motto. The odd mix of firearms, the motto, the maroon beret, and that distinctive cap brass, all perfectly match one specific country and unit:
Jack appears to be a Dutch paratrooper, from the Regiment Stoottroepen Prins Bernhard, of the 11th Airmobile Brigade, of the Royal Netherlands Army.
The question is what did Celestia and her administration do wrongthat could get the extremists followers. Fixing existing problems would be a good way putting the enemy under pressure.

You make very good points, polishing is needed indeed.
