It's been many years now since Trixie took over as guidance counselor for the School of Friendship. She likes her job and loves working with Starlight, but as she gets older she has grown to miss her career as a showpony.

What if she could have been bigger? What if settling for a desk job was a mistake?

With the help of her best friend Starlight Glimmer, Trixie decides to put together one more show to prove that she is still as great and powerful as ever.

Sounds like an interesting premise, and the prologue was really good.

Not bad for a debut! I will be watching this fic with great interest.
:)

This sounds like it'll be quite the wild ride. Welp, you got me hooked, so I guess I'm along for that ride! xD
Edit: I also just noticed that your new to fimfiction. Welcome! Brohoof my friend /)

From the prologue chapter, this looks like it could be a lot of fun, and you're doing a great job making "older" Trixie and Starlight well-drawn and interesting -- especially the way Trixie is still Trixie, unwilling to give up throwing one last "you were impressed, weren't you?" note into every conversation.

Looking forward to seeing where you take this!

Thank you! I've had this idea since the finale last year and finally decided to put off writing it. I'm just as curious to see where the story goes.

Oh wow. This chapter was amazing. I feel like you've really aged these characters well, and they're still saying and doing things that are in character. It's absolutely amazing. I gotta say though, when it was said that she crossed out the letters to make the reviews sound better, I couldn't stop laughing for awhile! Also, are we going to see more of Scarlet at any point?

Nice! I had this in favs and not racking, and I just found out that there was a new chapter! :rainbowlaugh:

The Great and Powerful Trixie ready to take Equestria by storm again!

Oh boy, I've got a bad feeling about this. Hopefully Trixie doesn't do anything stupid! Who knows, maybe The Great and Powerful Trixie will stun her audience once more. Also, I love how with each chapter you're getting better and better at writing for Trixie. This feels like something that would actually be said/done by her, I love this story so much because of that. It makes it so much more enjoyable.

Thank you for the compliments! Every chapter I try to figure out how much of her personality has changed over the years and how much has stayed the same. I want to play around with the idea that she may have grown too much and is now missing the kind of mare she used to be when she was younger, and maybe is realizing she should have taken more chances when she could have.
Happy to hear you like the story so far. Stay tuned!

It sounds like a great idea to play around with. It definitely feels like something Trixie would do, and from what I've seen of your story, it's working. And I don't plan on going anywhere, you've got me hooked. Lol

I think Trixie is right. I mean, her cutie mark is a wand after all. And we know that cutie marks represent who you are, so Trixies destiny has to be a performer. And if Trixie wants to do what’s in her heart, then I support her 100%:trixieshiftright:

Holy Potato! I didn't even realize that this updated until now! This is an amazing chapter! I absolutely love how you acknowledged that her mark is a wand. Preforming is who she is, it's literally there on her flank for the world to see. Love it. Absolutely amazing. :)

Trixie should just do a cuteness act, she would bring down the house with cute baby animals! Uh-oh, Trixie might be in trouble in the next chapter, hopefully Starlight and the others will help her. Good chapter!

Oh, poor Trixie :( but I can't say that I didn't see this coming, but still, I wonder what's she going to do now

Working on the next chapter now. Hold tight!

Poor Trixie, she and Starlight have a lot to talk about. But super great to read how Starlight stuck up for her friend in the end, even if there's still tension between them. I really like this story, is so close to the show that I can almost see it as an episode, or maybe a story that could be handle in the original comics. Keep it up!

Thank you for the compliments. I've had the idea for the story since the finale aired and wanted it to feel like an untold story that could have been in the show. Only one more chapter to go!

Seems like there could have been more. That Trixie just...settled for less, if you really want to achieve your dreams you fight for them, no matter how long it takes and no matter how hard it is. Don’t settle when you know you can do it, especially with all the resources she has at her disposal. Being close to the Princess and the main 6. There could have been a lot more to this, for her to finally get to the big stage and only to realize it actually wasn’t what she wants.

This was a bittersweet ending for me. On the one hand, she's giving up on her dream and passion, but on the other she's found a more fuffilling work she can do, but I guess it all work out in the end, she's surrounded by friends and love ones so maybe in the future she could do something more with her talents. This was an excellent read, it felt very true to the spirit of the show, and good luck with your future endeavors, I'm cheering you on from this side of the screen:yay:

I could have expanded on the story more with the Mane Six, but I really wanted to keep the everything contained to just Trixie and Starlight and make it about their friendship. I also really wanted to finish the story without it dragging on for too long so it had a rhythm more or less akin to an episode of the show.

I wouldn't describe it as giving up so much as growing up. Trixie loved magic but her pursuit more often than not turned her into someone selfish and vain. I think a part of her is sad to be moving on but that's a part of maturity, we have to sacrifice certain things in order to achieve something more important for the world. She's not letting it all go but she's re-prioritizing her wants and needs as she comes to terms with what's really more important. I wanted the story to feel bittersweet because of that and I hope it all came across in the end.

Thank you so much for reading!!

The ending was very sweet. Bice read over all
