It has been an interesting time for Equestria of late. Changeling invasions, the return and purification of Nightmare Moon, Discord, the ascension of a new princess, and the threat of Tirek.

Now Celestia's daughter, Dusk Star, has returned from a trip to the Zebrican lands, and no sooner than she is back in Canterlot than a new guest appears in the castle, in a room locked behind princess-only magic. Just having one visitor to the world is one thing, just keep it quiet, impress on them they are trespassing and keep an eye for any sneaking return trip. Having two visitors come in the span of twenty-four hours and one of them breaks through that spell like it wasn't even there? Harmony or some other power must be at work, and it's up to Dusk Star, the princess of protection, to figure out what.

So Stalwart changed tribes and Dussk is interesting but what of the usual gang?

Odd. Stalwart had always been an earth pony. Did i portray him different? If so, i need to fix that.

“Me? Playing tricks on my little ponies? Whatever are you talking about?” She asked innocently.

:trollestia:

His hand-hoof reached out and touched the glass and an ear shattering sound of glass breaking could be heard in the room, spiderweb cracks showing on the surface of the mirror, with a close up view on some of the pieces of the floor, while other pieces showed the ceiling.

Now why did it break I wonder :trixieshiftleft:

“That I cannot say.” Luna answered. “Nothing has broken a magic mirror before.”

Which makes this quite the interesting development :moustache:

"But that’s… that’s not possible." Dusk said frowning.

Apparently it is :trollestia:

"Hm.” Dusk thought as she watched him walk away, “Now then, I believe that is all we need to cover."

You still haven't discussed how Nightfall broke a magical mirror just by touching it :moustache:

"And what did I teach you about overconfidence?"

That it is a slow and insidious killer :moustache:

"I think we'll probably be seeing more ruckus soon enough." Celestia chuckled.

Most likely yes :trollestia:

Dusk thought about that, seeing her point. "Do we even have laws for this?"

Do you have laws against it? :trixieshiftright:

Dusk sighed. "Yes, yes. With great power comes great responsibility. I know Mother; however which is better? To have the power to stop needless bloodshed and do nothing, or to use that power to stop it? I am not saying cutting loose all the time is a good idea, but acting like our own power is some sort of monster just waiting to devour us if we blink is just… stupid."

Yes, yes it is :moustache:

As an author, I am loving the comments and seeing what people discover or think along the way. Carry on my friend! These are becoming the highlights of my day!

"Wait, what?" Dawn squeaked, looking at them in surprise, both at the experimenting and the compliment. She wasn’t sure whether to feel worried or happy.

Why settle on just one :trollestia:

He wasn’t a damn pony, he was a human, and a damn capable one at that!

Not at the moment you aren't :trollestia:

"Oh? What made her do that?" Dawn asked, giving a small wave to one of the serving staff to indicate she was ready to request food.

Concern :moustache:

"Maybe, but right now I can't do anything locked out of my lab… I mean honestly who changes the locks to their own R&D wing every couple of weeks then doesn't give the key to the head of the department?"

Someone who understands and cares about their department head's wellbeing :moustache:

Dawn chuckled. "I’m beginning to see why the locks were changed."

It is rather obvious :trollestia:

A laugh everytime that wild weather is unnatural
