Just here to write cute, lowkey stuff about (queer?) cartoon ponies as a stress relief, man.

Rarity and Applejack don't have much in common at first glance, but they're better together. A lowkey slice of life/shipfic exploring the changing seasons in their shared story. Writing this as ideas come so will update sporadically but probably not in a consistent chronological timeline, will try and keep it organized.

Well, I liked it.

The opening felt a bit purpley to me, and you may want to give it a few roudns of editing to smooth out some POV issues, but this was otherwise a quite enjoyable SoL vignette.

I hope you keep going, and we get to see what develops.

Thank you for reading and commenting! I haven't written many narratives lately so I'm out of practice, though I was trying to channel some purple prose through Rarity's perspective. I imagine she observes everything with an artistic eye.

That said, I took more time with the second chapter and will more thoroughly edit subsequent entries to find a smoother flow in the narrative. Thank you again!

Following because AJ and Rares are my fave two ponies and this has a lot of potential...

Thank you! It's been fun to write this and I hope I do the characters justice.

I love what you have and I'm so tracking this! Please don't abandon it and keep it going! Applejack and Rarity are great characters and I ship them harder than anything, so there's that, but you write them well and tell your story well.

I want more and I can't wait to get more! So please, keep up the good work!

Side note, I love the difference in tone from Rarity and Applejack. Rarity having more prose in her thoughts makes logical sense and adds a sense of whimsy to her that only she can provide. I also love how these stories could easily be connected sequentially, I hope they are too honestly. And I love that you can tell that AJ is already aware of her feelings to Rarity whereas Rarity probably hasn't figured hers out yet. I loooove it!

Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad you're enjoying the story. I'm definitely going to keep updating it, just not sure how frequently. I'm working on the next chapter right now and have loose outlines and ideas for more in the works.

The chapters are running sequentially but I'm leaving the door open for flashbacks and time skips. Figuring out the unique tone for each perspective has been a fun challenge.

Thank you again, and stay tuned for updates!

Yay!! Update!!! :pinkiehappy:

And cute way to have Applejack go through getting all of Rarity's things! (Also yay at Rarity's fave honey being from apple blossoms!)
And smooth if AJ to not mention that she remembered Rarity's smell for the shampoo lol

I can't wait for more! Woo!

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. I've started outlining the next few chapters and we have a flashback coming up, should be fun!

Thank you! Very sorry for the delay, I haven't had consistent internet access to get much written and published. Hopefully will get that taken care of in the next month or so once I get the money together.

OOOH! So happy to see this update!!! <3 And this was super sweet! :raritywink:

This was so nice to read! It's been a while since I read a good rarijack fic and although this chapter wasn't particularly focused on romance, their friendship felt strong and real. It feels right to see them interact peacefully, without any nonsense arguments over nothing. I really enjoyed how you wrote their conversation, particularly when rarity spoke up about sweetie swearing. You didn't need many words to let rarity's disposition shine through and it was very in character in my opinion, quite funny actually. Overall, nicely done!

But Applejack didn’t understand the Canterlot-minded ponies that frequented Rarity’s boutique. They seemed to exclusively prefer the tart, almost-bitter green apples from the northern orchards. The sweet, crisp apples that Ponyville’s townponies cherished were always passed by. She’d asked Rarity about it, once, but earned an earful about “the aesthetic” for her trouble.

Oh dear, "the aesthetic" of course!

Aww these two! It's lovely to see applejack knowing just what to do and say when rarity is so overworked :) cute chapter, I'm eager to read some more!

Alright AJ, you've got guts! This was very well written and such an entertaining chapter as well, I can hardly wait for their date!

You really tugged at my heart settings with this chapter... It was pretty emotional and the way each of them analysed their feelings in regards to gran pear's actions spoke volumes of their personalities and perspectives on that issue.

And also:

It was a small gesture, but it still brought a small smile to Rarity’s face after all these years. Applejack’s consideration for her marefriend’s business was appreciated; muddy hoofprints were quite the turn-off to would-be customers.

D'aww i love how caring applejack is to rarity!
