David, or rather Prince Artemis, faces an uncertain future. Is it possible for him to find happiness after a millenia of hatred and pain? Or will the past be a lingering shadow from which he cannot escape? Only time will tell.

I know that wouldn't fit the storyline, but in his place I'd probably strike out on my own.
Away from all these people constantly interfering, away from all the politics and expectations and just travel.
Favourite villain being good at her villainous ways makes me want to punch her.
I feel way bad for Artemis, and this whole thing is probably going to end with Canterlot mountain being turned into the Canterlot crater.
Yummy, more Artemis!
I hope Cadence notices his emotional spikes. She seems attentive enough to figure something out.
Anyone else wondering if Chrysalis might actually fall for the sap? It'd be highly amusing, if nothing else.
Jesus who wants to take bets that Chryssie ends up falling for him.

I won’t bet anything, but that is the outcome I’m hoping for. I adore happy endings.
The only question is whether they’re meant for people like Artemis and Chrysalis.

Shipping goggles aside, I certainly hope she does. He's certainly falling for her, and I don't know that he can handle another major betrayal at this point.
This shall not end well me thinks.
Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!Oh my gosh!
I'm interested to see how this plays out, is Artemis questioning Chrysalis just his human instinct feeling some thing off about the situation. I hope she doesn't succeed is getting Artemis to lower his guard but i would like to see what happens if his guard does lower.
I'm hoping that the eventual reveal and conflict won't be too soul shattering. I think it would be funny for Chrysalis to reveal herself and state what Artemis and Celestia did and her desire for revenge, only for it to devolve in a lover's quarrel. I think it could be entertaining and not get too dangerous. Or at least, I hope so.

Okay, that would be hilarious. Particularly if she didn't even realize she fell that hard for him too All of her scheming derailed because she fell for the mark.
If it ends up with now Chrysalis x Artemis, I have to wonder how Artemis would handle such betrayal, and what Chrysalis would do to him with that backdoor.

Well he has been mentally conditioned to kill Celestia for 1000 years, naturally the main part is the killing instinct that would most definitely formed when in that state, in response to lowering his guard and becoming mind controlled would be to fall back on that conditioning... Hard, the target of the conditioned mentality would be the one to invoke his ire, this would cause a chain reaction feeding his dark magic a lot of fuel, much like thermite it burns fast bloody hot and leaves a mark. Afterwards he would close up even more simply because his first 'friend' turned out to be a manipulative soul sucking bug pony, causing deeper depression, and undoing a lot of work already done to help break his though exterior.
In the end it'd be pretty bad, well that's what I would gather from his character and all that, if chrysalis cares about the loss of Artemis as a friend is up for debate, i'd wager she would, that way it 'humanizes' her more in our eyes and provides a conflict to focus on for an arc.
(really depends how the author would play if off, if they even decide to do something similar)

I sure as fuck hope so because I am not sure how he would keep going if she doesn't
As much as seeing Arty and Chrysi become a thing would be amusing, I'm still hoping for Twilight! Or I could really shoot for the fence and say Applejack. (Probably not, I know.)
The problem with that is that I imagine he sounds like "Nobody should forget my crimes" but for others it can sound like "I killed many, and got away with it by being rewarded with it and I want you and everyone else to know of it"
A form of villainous gloating.
If ponies are this Direct I'd like to know what the girls think of Artemis.
- Imagine everything he knows about his old world! I wish we could spend more time together and discuss it...maybe over dinner?
- He's more ornery than an old badger, but he's got a mean swing, and legs to heaven, hooo weee!
- He's got the sweetest smile, and he makes a girl work for it!
- He's....nice.
- Have you seen that wingspan? Hawt'!
- Broad shoulders? Gorgeous Mane? Personality is lackluster. But he is a Prince....
Crens, keep it coming!!!
Hurray for not asshole Blueblood. I really hate it when authors use him as a one-dimensional punching bag for their edgy HIE OCs. Glad to see it's not the case here.
This is why you should just automatically Gibbs slap anyone who gives you a warning as vague and overly dramatic as, "Trust no one."
While I agree with the people who think it'd be a shame if real romance didn't wind up sneaking up on Chrysalis, I also hope that whatever Chrysalis has planned for that back door fails at least in part because she didn't plan for him actually being "an alien from beyond the stars". It'd be such a waste of an opportunity otherwise.
(And failure due to overlooking some detail about her prey would be so in-character, given how Twilight realized that something was wrong, It'd also have a certain narrative satisfaction to it, since it would drive home the impression that you can change the details of the plan, but the cause of the failure is a failing in the character.)
Just remember Chrissy, backdoors can work both ways. Just imagine Artemis pouring the feeling of a thousand years worth of hunger, to a changeling that might lead to insanity.
What was that? Right there at the end, yes there that squiggly thing.
Was that a cliff hanger?
entering Artemis's mind may not be the sanest idea I've heard. Besides I think it'll be fun watching the world burn with this attempt
Oh! Maybe he could convert her to actually like him
I can just taste the betrayal, the rage, the despair. I can't wait for this to pay off.
I would only like to point the fact that a broken mind is particularly resistant to any kind of mind control. For example lets take such characters as Deadpool, or The Hulk, the both of them are targets for a mind controlling villain at least once per decade. And each time they break, or are outright immune to such things thanks to the fact that someone else has already destroyed their minds to the point where they cannot be broken any further, that makes any attempt to be tragic in consequences. ( Deadpool for instance has destroyed the entire Marvel Universe after one such event.) I can easily see that if Chrysalis aren't to fall in love with Artemis... Then he's going to kill her. Simple as that.
I wonder if Chrysalis will end up legit falling for Artie. I'm not going to lie, I'd totally ship that.
Poor bastard, used by nearly every mare he ever comes across for their own end.
Yay finally updated!!! Lol
I uh... I still want my PTSD freak out murder fest....
Gonna be funny when chrysalis stuffs herself fat on pinkie pies sweets...Ha..she's never had one of pinkies desserts.she is NOT prepared for the flavor.
I am actually a bit confused right now. I am getting mixed vibes from Chrysallis, at some points of the date she seem genuinely enjoying herself, not in the sadistic manner but in the 'having a good time' manner. And at different points she is as manipulative and vile as she is described. And yet I get the feeling that she is enjoying herself far more then she admits to herself, it is all rather confusing really. But then again, maybe that's the point? She has no previous, real, dating experience outside of seductions, this is probably the first time she has been needing to actually do any effort to get the attention of a pony. Things can go either way from here from what I can tell.
I'm gonna say AJ is showing no interest in Shining because she knows it's Twilight's brother and she is showing the relationship due respect.
Right?
8470452
I'd say you're right on that one
8470455 Oh? Righteous! Nice little attention to detail my friend. Here I thought the implication was she didn't trot that way.

Wait for the wedding. I get a feeling the color of the day will be Red...
Interesting chapter, I wonder if Artemis reactions with mares is just that he is just over sensible to pheromone having been completely cut off from it and never experienced it before. It was good to see Blueblood and he actually seems nice and actually... nice with Artemis and didn't squirm away from his abrasiveness. I wonder if it was all an act to try to cozy up to him to gain, something like support maybe(?), from which would mean nothing really for how bad he is with ponies in general. I wonder what Luna was talking about BB being too sensitive, overcoddles, or sheltered and didn't seem to be too fond of the idea BB meting Artemis.
After seeing the movie and having a theory as where Artemis' Destiny will lead him I wonder what part he will play in the movie? My thought? It would be a much shorter film.

Haven't seen the movie myself, so hush >w>

I will say this, and this isn't a spoiler:
The villain's name is "The Storm King"
You tell me what Arti would say to that.
Still looking forward to Chrysalis will accident trans Artemis to mare..
Because in reality Artemis is Greek Goddess .
But I know that Artemis will be Celestia's and Luna's true little brother reincarnation.
Things are building up. Wonder when Chrysalis will make her move.
Excited for more, please make more.

Artemis: The Storm King? Really? *takes a deep breath, then lets it out slowly, his brows lowering as his eyes narrow dangerously* I think it's time for a good old fashioned round of regicide.
8474181
just made the ladies swoon!
8474208
You can't see it, but I am currently rolling my eyes at you
Another totally AWESOME chapter!
I'm actually kinda hoping Artemis and Chrysalis get together, but something tells me it's gonna be one hell of an upward battle, for both of them.
My heart goes out for Artemis, no matter how this ends his heart will be broken when he learns Chrysalis had no interest in the beginning in loving him.
Hope that changes. Xp
Despite her being her perfect villainous self, I'm really hoping for some romance bullshit and for Chrysalis to start reciprocating his feelings. I'm not saying she turn good, I just..... I'm a hopeless romantic and I really don't want the future Canterlot Crater to be Chrysie's final resting place.
I just figured out the PERFECT Artemis ship!
It's a ways away, but...
-She's Powerful.
-Slightly unhinged
-Mean
-Will get his human jokes.
Say it with me now!
