Anyway, amazing story. I really enjoy short relates dealing with solid and intense, yet brief plot. This one was pretty amazing. The narration was on point describing both the action and the emotions. It is eloquent, but without falling for hubris like a lot of short relates which feel the need to compensate their length with pompous vocabulary when it´s completely unnecessary.
Speaking of which, I love the action. It was quite intense, and it did get my blood pumping.
I also love how quietly Discord goes down at the end, or better said, how quietly the narration describes it. Just blackness, nothing more. That's quite the sad ending for the master of chaos. I wonder how Fluttershy would react to this.
Anyhow, great job. I loved it.

When I see something done right I like going into detail as to why I liked it so much.
Seriously though, the moment I read the summary I heard in my mind "You´ll take my life but I´ll take yours too!" And then the song popped into my head.

Oh, I loved that. Really, I enjoyed that Discord wasn't helpless without his powers in the episode, but I was hoping for a bit...more, to be honest. Much like this, something that should Discord as a bit badass if he was ever motivated. After all, the writers have really let his craftiness and intelligence fall to the wayside in Discord epsiodes.

Still, all the same, I'm glad someone else is writing a fic like this. I'm currently have a fic planned/in progress that has a different take on Discord losing his magic to Tirek- lets just say Discord finds the situation hilarious. XP

Some could believe that it was a bad characterization of a cornered Discord, but I believe it was spot on: Discord isn't one who is usually known for physically lifting a finger, after all.
