This is off to a solid start.
I wish I could help with questions about Indian culture, but there's always been a wedge between me and that side of the family. I'd say my mother was a bitch, but I wouldn't want to insult any Diamond Dogs.
I might be able to help with metallurgy questions though. I took a lot of material science electives, and did a couple years of high precision machining.
Might want to add "this is a side story to TuP2" at the top of the description.
So far, it stands alone fairly well, but knowing who Razor Wit is, and what The Event is adds something to it.

6368146 The Warg picture is supposed to present all Diamond Dogs as a base template. Some are not so hideous, but the vast majority I think would look like monsters. I mean, from a logical standpoint, the Ponies (Kavim) from the main story aren't actual ponies by any stretch of the imagination, why should the Diamond Dogs be any different?

6375755 Thanks bro. It's not easy to work with Diamond Dogs. There is so little about them to build upon, I hope I'm doing alright. The effect I'm going for is world-building while attempting to emphasize the cultural and societal contrasts between the two groups who have been thrown together.

Truly canon ponies are boring - to a large degree.
Pretty much all writers use large elements from the rich fanon that has grown up.
There are few underused corners - non-ponies are particularly missing in the main.
I can't remember a 'straight' portrayal of a diamond dog lead in a fic, other than HIE, which doesn't really count.
Similarly - purely copying an existing race from WoW or ... and not having to bother writing any backstory is a too often used crutch.
This can be especially glaring when multiple races are used with the assumption the reader knows the source, so they're not fleshed out.
The work put into a fresh take shows in the little details.
