Oh you nut cracker son of a bitch, why must you put hanger on the cliff? Also, CRANKY! Love how you introduce him, and nice touch with the Legend of Everfree, I thought you were gonna break cannon to get that out of the way or just ignore it.
7674998
Because I'm EVIL
But if seriously, this chapter stretched long enough that I decided to pause as I reached its last segment.
Thanks if honestly, he's not one of my favourites, and I was worried about screwing up his dialogue, but once I realized I needed a familiar face for Donkey Stopper, he popped up in my head and fit perfectly.
I hate breaking canon without a good reason, and anyway, the plot of LoE allowed me place to circumvent the problems that arised.
When does the original Fallout Equestria take place in accordance to this?
Is it like Fallout 3 to the original? A few hundred years later?
ah, i remember doing this particular quest in New Vegas. I manage to see the shimmer/outline of invisibility before he sprung and just shoot at the general direction.
7675042
Fallout: Equestria Girls is set separately from Kkat's Fallout: Equestria universe, so no, the events of Kkat's story do not happen after this one at all.
7675078
Nice quest, but somewhat simple. I decided to throw in a complication after it
NightKin...loved thier reactions to learning of them but now they got the slavers.
Welp! Guess it time to kill some scumbags, and make their deaths as painful as possible.
Revies up Chain saw.
I hate Slavers and always enjoyed killing them in the game.
7675140
Who said it was slavers?
First off, didn't someone already made that joke with the flying spaghetti monster to begin with? Second;y, oi Twilight! Decided to toss your mouth filter already?
7675125 Ah, alright. Thought it would be cool to see little pip as a cameo.
I'm no fan of cazadors either, but have you seen sting wings fighting a deathclaw? It's bananas, the death claw can barely even hit those bugs.
Sure three on one but you'd expect more from a deathclaw.
7675273 if you did that then you'd have to do Blackjack too and THAT will raise some questions
Nice integration of The Legend of Everfree movie and good idea putting Cranky and Matilda, it's always nice to see known faces.
I also like that little backstory of Sunset just before the nuclear strikes.
And the Nightkin mini side quest from New Vegas. Quickest and easiest way to obtain your first minigun; to bad it is in really poor condition.
Well, now they need to save Sunset. See you next chapter.
So digit gave up his spot for sunset, eh? and she doesn't seem to realize it...
7675385 Why would he have to add Blackjack?
The scene with the nightkin reminds me a lot of an unmarked quest from Fallout New Vegas. Yeah, Nightkin are dangerous not just because of their Stealth Boy addiction, they're also slightly tougher and schizropenic. I'll also bet that there's an equivalent of the FEV here as well. I also remember cazadores and deathclaws. If you have the pre-order pack in FNV, the grenade launcher (at least until you run outta ammo), is your best bet against cazadors. Deathclaws on the other hand, well... I've killed 'em with assault rifles, grenades, katanas and power fists. (I do love my katanas, after all. I've roleplayed as a samurai before) But you'd be crazy to apply my current strategy to the Deathclaw Alpha Male. Fast as fuck and one swipe can kill you unless you're in power armor, and then the DAM can kill you with two to three swipes.
Also, Mother Deathclaw is someone to watch for as well. Hurt her babies, and you will be clawed so many ways into next week. If you're using a bullet time mod, the normal deathclaws are easier to dodge, but it doesn't work against the DAM or the Mother Deathclaw. And another thing is to watch for the blind deathclaws between Raul's shack and Bitter Springs. They're slightly more powerful than the deathclaws of Quarry Junction, but slower than the DAM. I don't really have an affinity for big guns and hey, if anyone of these girls punches out a deathclaw barehanded or with a power fist (I know power armor comes with free power fists), I'll be impressed.
The Big MT Cazadors and the Nightstalkers are also pretty tough for people NOT using miniguns or rocket launchers. Especially the former. In close quarters. If you're using explosives in close quarters, you may risk severely injuring yourself/accidentally killing your companions and dying while trying to kill them.
Sorry for the massive walls of text, but I'd like to say my two bits. I also forgot to tell that the deathclaws biggest weakness are their legs. Damage the legs enough and they'll slow down enough for 'em to eat lead. Umm... yeah, here's hoping this is good advice. Or something.
7675487you can't have one without the other. Who else, Puppysmiles
AHHHH, CLIFFHANGER, I HATE CLIFFHANGERS, YOU ARE SO EVIL ! AND CAZADORES, EVEN WORSE THAN CLIFFHANGERS!
Anyway, good chapter but I have one comment.
The plural of Cazador is Cazadores not Cazadors.
By the throne...
Now, what could the Night Kin want sunset for?
Yeah... I'm not that confident with power armor against Deathclaws, Fallout 4 is a bit to much even for a PC that is not even low end so I don't know how deathclaws vs power armors might fair in 4, but Deathclaws in NV is really dangerous even with power armors salvaged from dead BOS member, CQC is just suicide unless you have a specific build and stat for it.
I really recommend having E-DE for that extended danger warning.
A sneak attack with the anti-material with explosive rounds is what I mainly use since my builds have always been "Low health-Sneaky-High critical" But if You don't have the anti - material rifle yet You can use any rifles (sniper rifles) and the mine tactic.
Cazadors huh... I have been using a hunting shotgun or the riot shotgun with VATS when they get close to deal with them but I still use the sneak tactic whenever possible.
Anyway is Sunset and Twilight going to meet the story version of the NCR? they are going west so I really hope one of them (Sunset) gets to wear the Veteran ranger outfit. But the leather armor also suits sunset quite well.
7675839 Super mutant have been kidnapping humans, or... Maybe its the "Master!"
7676915 Not Going to be good.
7675186
Yep, Sunset did. Chapter 23:
It's not the first time she did. She has more restrain than Sunset, but when that fails - prepare for F-Strikes
7675273
I do want to pay some homage to Fallout: Equestria in some form, but haven't found the right time for it.
7675371
...yep, definitely not happening in my fic
7675413
Thanks
And fixing it costs fuck-a-ton of caps, no less
7675485
Sunset doesn't know what became of Digit Rate. Your thought is logical, but it's not necessarily true...
7675505
Admittedly, I'm still too much of a Scootaloo to try Hardcore Mode, but usually I relied on detecting Cazadors from afar, taking them out with precise shots, and if they come too close for comfort, swap for a gun with high fire rate and cripple their wings in V.A.T.S.
But I never fought a Deathclaw in New Vegas. Saw not one, but two in marksman carbine's scope once...
media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lnf319IXwf1qidxg0.jpg
Got away before Boone fired at them.
Thanks for the info. Rather interesting, should I get back to New Vegas. I'm still stuck playing MGR: Revengeance.
7675506
Not sure I'll make a cameo with Blackjack or any other character from side stories.
7675525
KEKEKE
Thanks for the comment. I'll investigate and seeabout this.
7675839
Who said it was Nightkin?
7676263
I forgot that little detail, thanks.
However, since V.A.T.S. in its game form does not appear here (thus no analogue of Action Points mechanic), I have strayed from Fallout canon in this case.
Besides, there is now a lore ambiguity in Fallout Wikia:
7676906
Hmm, interesting tactics. I generally suck at sniping, though. So AM rifle is not really for me.
No spoilers.
Again...
7677347 If not the Night Kin, then Hopefully the intelligent Deathclaws of Vault 13, that would be an interesting experience, maybe have one of them join the gang as a temporary companion. Tis a Thought.
7677347 I'd imagine her F-strikes are more... pronounce
7677347 Uh... Yeah... I'll be careful next time...
( why does this keep happen to me! Curse this foresight ability )
I knew it was the chubacabra all along
If Twilight ever does make it back to Equestria I can't wait to see the interaction between all of her friends, Celestia and Luna. Like how long she has been gone and how she will adjust to being back in Equestria, I would imagine she ends up getting some kind of PTSD when she does but regardless I will just have to hope and wait a long time based on how the story is right now. Anyway I love the story, I love you & I can't wait to see more!
7683339
Thank you for the comment, I'm glad you're enjoying this
It would be funny if they came across a mini deathclaw attacking a band of raiders with a party hat on
7685241
I don't think this will happen...
7687291 ah, the tailbone. The use of biological terms can be confusing
Nope
I would rather face a dozen Deathclaws than Swarm of Cazadores
Deathclaws are easier to hit and a few AMR rounds in the head kills one surprisingly easy. But that's from a distance away and in CQC i just take a Turbo and get the hell out dodge
Or i just fill the air with as much firepower as i can and try to disable the legs and kill the fucko....
Once again amazing. And I have to disagree Cazadors are worse than Deathclaws. God I still remember the Thorn quest for Cazador eggs. Still sends shivers up my spine.
7690166
Who knows. Personally, I'd rather fight a swarm of Cazadores. Having fuck-a-ton of antidotes and RegenStims helps.
7696015
Damn, I didn't see that quest. Been a long time since I played any Fallout.
So, I just started reading this, and it's alright so far, but I have a concern: there seems to be a lack of the word "the" that's making a lot of the sentences become confusing and have to be re-read to get the meaning. I'd be willing to go through and edit while I read to correct the grammatical mistakes...
7704440
I keep telling myself that I need to revisit earlier chapters, but just can't force myself, to my embarrassment
7703009 The quest is called Bleed me dry in which you have to collect monster eggs for the Thorn fight club arena. from Giant Mantis eggs to Deathclaw eggs. She marks a specific place on the map and you go there get the eggs bring them back rinse and repeat. Thing is the quest gets harder with every new step performed. Mantis eggs are in Vault 22 deathclaws are in Dead Wind Cavern or the Quarry. So hard quest. Getting the cazador eggs is especially terrifying b/c it's a Cazador swarm gauntlet of winding and narrow cliff paths. I could be exaggerating a bit it's been a while for me as well. Great reward payout though combined and depending on barter skill 5200 to 6000 caps plus a unique weapon.
7721742 oh I understand. She was just my favorite villian so far in the series. Even Chrysalis or Sombra haven't made me like the bad guys like the Dazzlings. Though Sombra comes close. Sombra, I wonder if he had a EG counterpart?
7721940
In canon EQG, no.
In Fallout: Equestria Girls? I'm weighing it up. Chrysalis may make an appearance, but no definite conclusion about Sombra.
Ok, read the whole thing. Other than a few misspellings here and there and a few very odd choices for words it's a very good story.
is the Legion (or a close equivalent) going to show up here too? Because I would love to see them show up as a villainous faction in the Western Wasteland. Double points if it's them who kidnapped Sunset, or if Caesar decided Twilight would make for a pretty good intellectual (and sexual) slave.
7735800
Should Caesar's Legion make an appearance, they won't be exactly like they are in New Vegas. But I think that a faction similar to Legion in terms of villainy and influence should be there.
I'm currently thinking who should be the leader and what ideology they pursue.
It's not them, but another faction that holds influence over Western Wastelands as well.
That's... actually a very good idea, plot-wise. If I were writing a "characters-in-Mojave" type of fiction instead of fusion crossover, that idea would definitely have been in consideration.
Since my story is different, that can't be played as you described, but I think that the concept itself deserves merit. Maybe I can somehow integrate it...
Thank you for the thought. if I am able to implement it, there'll be due credit coming your way.
Is that a reference to Pastafarianism?
Which, btw, is an actual religion.
7736996
When I wrote that particular scene, I was not aware of Pastafarianism. I thought that "flying spaghetti monster" was just a catchy word combination, and that it would be a good outlet for Sunset's mood.
I do know now that Pastafarianism is a religion, but it is not treated seriously in Russia.
War never changes....(like death and taxes) never fuckin changes!
7758730
It never does indeed
7759560 do you want the aladeen news or the aladeen news?
7759822

7759900 you are HIV aladeen,
