What did I guess and what cookie do I get? On a side note, corn muffins taste like cornbread.
Awesome chapter, loved it, and looks like we got super mutants, smarter ones it seem.
on how well they can talk.
6395497
I am afraid you were not able to guess a reference, but since you tried, you get a cookie for trying.
It's an oats cookie.
6395531
Glad you enjoyed it I never believed super mutants being stupid, actually.
I'm just waiting for them to encounter one of the other human Mane 6.
6395568
Super mutants aren't really stupid it just the process to create them had left many brain damaged.
Very few remember their old personalities or had their minds turned to being violent crazed warriors.
I love for them to meet a Super Mutant Over Lord who actually pretty nice, maybe a guardain of a small city or town.
Not the Giant ones but the ones in the expansion set who weld the tri lasers.
6395565 Oh. I guess this oat cookie will hafta do.
6395574
You'll need patience, friend. I can guarantee that in Chapters 9 and 10 there definitely won't be an appearance of any of Mane 6. And after that? I'll see how big the intermission chapters turn out to be.
6395577
If by "those with tri lasers" (BTW the correct term is gatling laser) you mean someone like Fawkes, then there's a chance of meeting one.
I really liked when you showed Twiligt's remorse through nightmares.
6399564
Glad you liked it
6400293 Hey, for some reason I got the idea of the human Twilight Sparkle commanding The Enclave. Am I close to what you have planned?
6401976
Awesome idea But, to be honest, I can't see human-Twilight in this position.
In any way, her involvement is undetermined as of now, until I can see what role she plays in Friendship Games. My previous ideas have been demolished by the trailer.
6403804 Could you tell me what ideas you had for her?
6404498
Mostly I just thought that she wouldn't be able to crack the secrets of magic before the Day of Burning, and would feel deeply frustrated that she never got the chance to uncover the mystery. Thus, once she met pony-Twilight (and maybe some of Mane 6), she would go all "crazy scientist", Lesson Zero-style. I didn't even have any ideas about her affiliation, or her backstory.
However, the trailers showed her having a magic-detecting device, which I named "arcano-meter" (and to which my reaction was a total "WTF? "), and that she actually somehow wielded magic at a certain point, even if she couldn't control it. That torched my ideas right then and there. I need to see Friendship Games first before I think about how to involve her.
6404847 Hmmm, sounds very interesting, but you're right with seeing friendship games first. If you want I could offer my help with the backstories.
6361031
Totally forgot to give you a cookie for trying to guess the reference in Chapter 7.
*gives a cookie*
Sorry
6404854
As of right now, I have the most important backstories planned already. However, if I hit a major brick wall, I'll call for help; thank you for the suggestion
6404883 Hey, I hope they will be as good as the story in general
Yay best human is in it now!
6407799
You mean Lyra, I presume?
6407814 eeyup
Pretty sure you wanted this to be "sparks".
Might want to change it to "unicorn-turned-human".
There might have been one other mistake I saw, but I don't remember where it was. Other than that though the chapter was really good.
We got a lot of action this chapter and I liked the scenes with Twilight's nightmare and Sunset cheering her up afterwards. I don't care if SunLight will happen or not, but I have decided I will just have to add it in myself mentally if it doesn't. I know it is presented in a manner that could be just really good friends being there for each other, but I am letting myself read further into it willingly.
I liked the Survival Guide entry at the end. That leaves in all kinds of wonderful and fun implications for what can happen later in the story. That is one thing that you really have going with this story. Since it is taking place so soon after the bombs fell you actually have a lot of people that could have been military or some form of law enforcement running around and still more or less in their prime.
Is Lyra the figure we saw earlier in the chapter? I can see her either having been there for awhile, or she could have quickly gotten herself into that situation during the time it took Twilight and Sunset to settle things. I also have to wonder if she is one of these agents mentioned in the guide book entry or not and only because she had that laser weapon and seems to be fairly well equipped.
It isn't a big deal, but I do have to wonder which of the two it was that recognized Lyra at the end? Both of them could have. She spoke to Sunset but either Twilight or Sunset could have said her name. It would have been funny if both of them said it together. Another thing I am wondering about is if you will be adding in any Fallout humor or not. Either way it is already a good story and looks like it will continue to be so. I am just curious.
I look forward to the next chapter. And try not to get too carried away getting inspiration from Fallout: New Vegas if said inspiration involves playing the game .
6410128
Thanks for pointing out the errors. Already fixed, and will try to go over the chapter once again at the earliest opportunity.
No, that's a different character. Mysterious Stranger Kidding, not the one in V.A.T.S.
Laser weapons were not given only to those working for Directorate of Intelligence... plus, laser weaponry (and ammunition) is not as rare in Northern Wasteland as our heroines believe...
They both did, but Sunset was the vocal one. Twilight simply lost her jaw
The only Fallout humour I really know is the jokes Mr. Gutsy tells you in your house at Megaton
It does involve playing the game. The latest events in my life don't allow me to play it liberally Either way, Chapter 9 is already in progress.
6410214 There is a decent bit of humor in Fallout. It may not be right in your face, but it does have some. It might depend on how you look at things though. For instance, I thought the Wasteland Survival Guide quest-line in Fallout 3 was really funny because of the interactions you have with Moira Brown. Also the things many people do to complete parts of the quest as well.
Like the radiation poisoning part. I got my character naked and crouched down in the pond around the Atom Bomb in Megaton and listened to Professor Cromwell's sermon about "Atom's glory!". When I went back to turn in that part I thought it was funny how Moira cures you and is all like, "Well good news! You have no more radiation in your system. But there was a teeny tiny slight mutation... It's Benign! Mostly..."
There was also the mole rat repellent part as well. You turn it in and tell her their heads exploded and she is all like, "Awwww.... Those poor cute little creatures went and lost their heads... Well at least you're still alive. And I don't think they would make for very good research assistants like you do."
I never really understood why people didn't like her. Another good example is the G.O.A.T. in the beginning of the game.
Fallout: New Vegas has some as well, especially the Old World Blues DLC. I mean if you do all of the stealth armor tests in the stealth facility you get an ending card talking about how the facility's AI felt lonely not being able to run anymore tests after the suit left without even saying goodbye. Later it hooks up with the Repconn facility and together they continue to run tests on the raiders that break in. Plus there's the ghouls at the Rocket Facility.
I guess a lot of the humor sometimes comes from just how crazy and exaggerated some of the things are. For crying out loud, Nuka-Cola made a soda that had radiation in it to give it extra flavor and a glow. Also Canterbury Commons, even if it isn't without some dark itself.
The truth is very few Fallout related fanfics add in the humor. Most of them go for very dark, bleak, and gloomy. Either why this is a good story and I feel it will be whichever route you go with. I just mostly typed this post to say that there is some humor in the Fallout franchise.
6412651
Thank you for telling me that.
Unfortunately, since I had played Fallout 3 in Russian version, many jokes could have avoided me, because localization is never perfect. And while New Vegas that I have has English voicing, the interface remains Russian.
Truth be told, I am not an expert on humour. I will, of course, try to add jokes, but only if inspiration hits and there's an appropriate time for them.
6413690 The best thing is not to try and add it in then. Which seems to be what you are saying you will do. Like I said I was just trying to point some of it to you in case you wanted to know.
6414252
Thanks for the advice
Good chapter Will the Brotherhood of Steal appear in the story?

LYRA!!!!

Holy Throne! Was not expecting Lyra to show up!
Soo, does it bother anyone else that the narrator and literally every character in here talks funny?
8219696
From what I understand, English isn't the author's first language.
8582491
Indeed it isn't. I am a Russian.
I feel like they are neglecting the fact that Spike needs radiation protection as well, especially with the fact that he has a smaller body mass than humans do. I hope that sense of vertigo he got near the end wasn't radiation sickness...
8688800
No, it wasn't radiation sickness he was unlucky enough to be tossed hard in Twilight's rucksack, and that gave him vertigo.
TAKE THE RIOT ARMOR!!!!!
I wasn't expecting to see Lyra, but I'm not complaining. Here's to hoping Bon-Bon's alright, or at the very least, anyone else from CHS.
