Ultima75000

T

Evil forces from an ages long past descend on Equestria and both Princess Celestia and Princess Luna are powerless to stop it. Equestria's only hope lies with a single pony. A pony who both Princesses know and haven't seen in millennia... their father the King.

Twilight Sparkle and her friends now must embark on their greatest and most dangerous adventure yet to discover the origins of the Royal Family and a world long since forgotten by ponykind.

How far can you go without adding 'Gore'?
No Gore: "The spear plunged deep into his chest."
Mild Gore (Maybe add the tag, depending on its frequency within the story): "The spear bit into his chest, a rivulet of blood trickling down the haft of the weapon and to the ground."
Full Gore (If it's once, a chapter tag will do. If it's any more than that, add the tag to the story): "The spear lodged itself into his chest, even as the haft broke. As the stallion fell to the earth and blood trickling from his mouth, a crimson puddle swiftly formed at his hooves..."
(I don't really feel a need to write anything gorier than that. If it's more descriptive than 'Full', there is no question; Mature & Gory...surely Dark too.)

*Adding this to the read later list.

Thanks for the tip; I probably can't ignore it since there will be violence and such.

1714632 Also, it doesn't seem like they enforce it, but Sad & Tragedy are mutually exclusive...and they ask authors not to label stories with both.
Sad is just a good tear-jerker. You know little Timmy's dog gets hit by a car, or X pony comes down with an incurable disease.
Ex. The Unread Letter

Tragedy is when your (main) character's life is torn apart around them, usually because of their own failings or shortcomings - a true, classic Tragedy will always end with them worse off than when they began.
Ex. TAC: The Fall (Yes, this is a shameless plug...)

My guess is, Gore and Dark tags, you're talking Tragedy...?

Now I feel very stupid because of that. Truth be told I didn't check the FAQs all that much. That's completely my fault and after reading up the Tragedy tag I ended up removing it. There is a tragedy in the story but it's not tragic. Same goes for Sad but there story itself is not a truly sad 'sad' tear jerker like the FAQs described. Like tragedy there are sad moments but it's not a sad story.

For the remaining tags
Adventure: This is tag number #1, The description enough is almost enough to explain.
Human: It said anything that included humans including humanized ponies. Unless you read some of the later chapters you won't exactly know what.
Dark: MLP itself is by all means a very well developed show for kids. (specifically little girls) We all know that already. Although the story I've put up is more along the lines of action cartoons or popular anime. There is violence, evil acts and yes some blood but the full intention is to add more action and mystery to the MLP universe with much of my inspiration being from the DC Comics Animated Universe and many others.
Romance: This is probably the most difficult tag. Not because it doesn't belong here but because I fully intend to make sure there is romance; I'm just very uncomfortable. I've never had a girlfriend so I have never really experienced attraction personally. Being perfectly honest the only experience on love and romance in the comes purely from books, movies and video games. Heck Mass Effect Romance is closest thing I know to actual romance. But it's almost literally one of the most important tag here next to Adventure. What drives a person harder than love? I guess we'll have to find out how well it does.

1717937 If you have little experience with Romance personally, I recommend following the KISS Rule: Keep It Stupid Simple. The worst thing you can do is over do it... :raritywink: Just keep everything simple and believable... ask someone to take a look at it before you publish, etc... You can do it!

Read further... They are in there though in later chapters..

Lookin for Jarvan i see.

why are they using person instead of pony (Unless they are humanized) but this dose not read like that or you just use it because you have always used it all your life.
