I know, right? Makes it all the more frustrating. Growing attached to characters on both sides, sympathizing with the 'bad guys.' Where's it all going? Somewhere good, I hope.

6649344 Originally, these chapters weren't supposed to be, and I only included them at the last moment because of some urge. I had trouble figuring out the pacing since I also wanted to get to the 'meat' of the story.

Fair enough, then. They felt a bit off, but I do think the story would make rather a lot less sense without that kind of background chapter. They do a lot to establish the whole setup.
