There had been many jumpers, each pulled from one planet. Each of them having gone through their trials. Each jumper wears the scars of their hardship in mind, body, and spirit. Yet, they all met on Equestrian soil and on that fated arrival their new lives and bonds had somehow brought healing to their weary hearts. They had saved Equestria using the skills, abilities, and powers they attained during their adventures. They had become accepted (mostly) by Equestrian society. Their reward? A small measure of peace.

But peace doesn't last forever as a new terror begins. What is worst, is the problem is back on their home world, beyond their reach!

But even in a seemingly hopeless situation has a ray of hope. For a long-time friend of Equestria's first arriving jumper maybe the key to saving their people. But can one man with a handicap really make the difference?

The test of friendship between worlds begins...

Based on Techogre's Memoirs of a Reality Jumper and the new reality jumper stories that followed:

Wonder if all these jump shifting people are accidents, or kidnappings.

Is it just me, or is it being suggested that the ponies are smarter than the humans with their own technology?

In there defense: They know more about the phenomenon than the humans. So while it appears they know more about their technology, they simply are more able to come up with a solution faster for this situation. Ask them to do something else the humans already know how to, and it will be the ponies that need to do catch-up learning.

But perhaps the story could have involved more collaboration between the ponds and humans. It's a hard balance to strike.

Also, humans are at a disadvantage being delayed by bureaucrats, weighed down by fear and despair, and blindsided by a phenomenon that they know little about. I want them to fight an uphill battle, which I will be writing in the next chapter. It makes the resulting outcome more extraordinary. That and part of the theme is Tycho pushing past his doubts about Alex and his alien friends to accept their help.

First contact in so many ways.

“Gaia. My trade is what some of your people may call a ‘Black Mage.” The elf replied.

Trace raised an eyebrow. “How do you know that?”

“Your occupation is on a video game I once played when I was a kid. Black mages, white mages, black belt, fighter, all that.” Tycho held back his slight giddiness. His first jump and he was meeting someone from Final Fantasy!

Bit of missing dialogue by the looks of it

No idea why it failed to import it. Oh well, corrected. Thanks.

The 'Yay, I'm alive, but I can never go home' parties are so awkward.

There is no perfect way to make a refugee feel welcomed.

Seeker didn't do his homework very well if he was asking the town that considered some of the humans heroes to confined them like prisoners. Especially when he presents himself as the mighty unicorn from the high mountain of Canterlot in dirt pony town. He is really not as smart as he thinks he is. This is why he should have sent someone with better pony skills and presentation skills; all he did was hurt his position.

He is the take on the professor who thinks he is right but is a poor self-advocate.

I look forward to see what his brand of science experience will teach Tycho about magic.

I look forward to see what he discovers with magic.

Does this cross over with any other stories?

It sure does. For a complete list (including the core story) see: Memverse Group

I just knew from the beginning this was based on TMOARJ (wow big acronym) I mean Alex Roberts, divorced, living in ponyville and with a working laptop, I commend you good sir, keep writing this if you please

The huge title is why we prereaders just call it 'Memoirs' :twilightsheepish:

Pretty good writing. You did change up one thing from Reality Jumper series. The event that moved the people also moved a radius of stuff around the jumper.

Thanks! And thanks for pointing that out. Thinking on it now, it isn't a detail I find important. Just that the implications of all humanity being jumped off Earth in the far future being frightening enough to get the plot moving. :twilightsheepish:

Thanks for reading it. Real life stuff hit me hard but I hope after things have finally settled I can continue this.

And do I need to read any of those other stories in order to understand this story?

I'm wondering how Seeker even thought that was going to work? Matt, Trace, and El are all capable of resisting arrest in some pretty dramatic ways. Hard to paint them as a dangerous threat to ponykind if they willingly surrender to avoid hurting anypony. At which point Twi is immediately giving Celly an earful. 'Spect is likely to give Seeker a personal visit akin to the one Alex gave Coins that one time...

(pokes head out from behind his own tombstone)

Well, now that you mention it. Aside from being a unicorn magician, he is also a bureaucrat motivated by fear. He's to the jumpers as Walter Peck is to the Ghostbusters.

(looks around, goes back into grave)

i would not mind some anthro goodness in this story.

you do u of course
