This is definitely worth continuing! Throw lyra for a loop by having him stay with another pony that she knows. Im not a huge fan of the mane 6, so I think any background pony could work. My vote: The flower trio. Because I haven't read a single HIE with them.

Rainbow Dash seem to be somewhere around 20ish or double that as shown by the amount of candles on the cake in the episode with Cheese Sandwich.

I'm going off the assumption that everything in the show is scaled to the 'real life' lifespan of a pony, for example 'dog years' and 'cat years' are much shorter then humans. So in this sense ponies can live 100+ years but in their own versions of 'years' might be different then ours. Once again this is a huge assumption and I could be completely wrong.
100 is a nice and round number so I would see why they would pick it if they did. In Grany Smiths case we don't know how old she is, it was never said other then the hints that she lived back when Ponyville was founded (and to my knowledge we don't know how old Ponyville is.). Lastly this story is based on a cartoon, so stuff like this shouldn't really be taken seriously. I do thank you however for commenting your question, it got me thinking about other things that are pony related :D

However you shouldn't dislike something just for that reason alone. It would be like sending a note to a tea company about how you hated the taste of it when you didn't like tea in the first place. Their likely response would be on the lines of "Sorry but there are hundreds more that actually like it". Nevertheless you should dislike a story if its grammar or spelling is horrible, because that shows how much effort the author put into it. This is all my own opinion and you can take it however you want.

6213071 That short of a time and you can't get an orginally Earth pony's settlement up properly and we know from another episode that only a small group of the Apple family ponies arrived there and began building up...so she has to be at least over 150 years old in human year.

Trust me when I say I'm trying. Between flying and college work I have to do my job in order to keep the money coming. Whenever I have a chance to chill I usually spend it writing bits and pieces of stories here and there. Like right now I'm currently writing the next chapter of Don't veer for deer. As much as I would like to write for hours on end, my current lifestyle simply wont comply.
I noticed that I haven't been updating in a LONG time so I do apologies for that. All things being said here are just excuses and I'll try my hardest to get something up for the people that like my writing. Until then I hope you can bare with me as I try to multitask what I have gotten myself into.

You need a proof-reader, mate. That's the ninth or so error I've seen where it wasn't a misspell but simply the wrong word used. Spellcheck only helps you so much.
