4294947 well, I just like the idea of Sweetie Bot having a laser firing horn. Machine guns can overheat and warp, laser cannons just need to cool down.

I'd say that if Sweetie is upset enough to question if she really has emotions then she really does. Honestly I was hoping for Cyborg Sweetie instead of Ponydroid Sweetie, that would mean she still had the essence of a pony inside her.
4300473 Both forms of Sweetiebot have their merits in fanfiction, I just prefer the Ponydroid version, it fits better with the story later on. As for emotions, I'm kind of going with the fact she is a mega advanced AI, her subconscious has been able to convince her she is alive with real emotions for her entire life, she is very limited in her knowledge about the power her subconscious system has over her conscious mind and that causes her to doubt any emotions she feels.

Since she's already having a tough time with her concious I don't think killing ponies is going to help. At least with a laser it can be used to stun or incapacitate.

It feels pretty right. Now, (not saying I should be, but) if I were in this fic, I'd be that one guy who doesn't react. Who accepts what he sees. But, of course, I'm not in this, so just don't mind me, I'm only blathering.
As for the chapter ending, vaporizing an entire tree seems a bit OP. She could just blow a hole in it instead. Save the mass destruction for when she gets angry. You might also put in more about how her great
