you just anthropomorphized his plane... and i'm honestly hoping there's a reason behind this because it would make things veeeeeeeeeery interesting in later chapters. all things considered, i've seen stranger, and this was well-written, and so this has piqued my curiosity... again.

So let me get this straight. The craft is named Baron. It likes wearing tight fabric with straps and buckles. Not to mention he loves having Pilot so tight inside him. Might as well be german at this point.

Oh god this chapter made me cry I've spent more hours than I can count in the sky and you do form a bond with your aircraft but this really tugged at my heart strings

Ch6 is more or less done. I'm holding it back till 7 is finished though, I might make some changes. Ch7 is coming alone nicely, I have a good handle on where it is going. Biggest delay is having to sit and write.

On my 3rd read-through of this story.
Every time I read this chapter, I weep openly at the display of loyalty and friendship portrayed here.
This is stunningly beautiful.

That was genuinely fascinating. Ive never read anything from a vehicles point of view.

"Forty eight thousand feet, Pilot wasn’t moving. The Baron had to help him. He screamed in frustration. Anemic engine and tattered wings refused to save his Pilot; his friend. Sixty thousand feet. " I lost it right there. It was like a punch to the heart.

Later in the story it's specified that the Baron is some fraction of the original scale of it's Fokker design, which puts it in the "ultralight" category.

Of course he was, and he answered pilot when the ignition key twisted. His reincarnated engine roared with all its might at Pilot’s command. Once it had powered a car called a beetle, but it was The Baron’s now. He was a young plane with an old soul, a Fokker biplane built in the twenty-first century.
