I know I'm commenting on this rather late, but such is the life for a fairly recent Brony.
First, I just want to say that I didn't become a Brony until well after this controversy had pretty much blown over.
Secondly, Derpy is tied with 2 others for my pick of "Best Pony." (The other 2 are part of the Mane Six, but I'll let you guess which ones.)
