Nobody ever ran for anything that Sunset Shimmer ran for. But when Rarity runs for Princess of the Spring Fling, Sunset Shimmer needs to make sure she doesn't win. Sunset Shimmer decides that Rarity's friends are what are most important to her, so without them, she'll be nothing!
