With the holidays wrapping up, things are getting back to normal in Maretime Bay... which means Misty is back to spying on the ponies living in the Crystal Brighthouse. But the holidays aren't quite over yet, and a certain purple unicorn still has one last gift to give.

Misty is buying presents for the main five and Pipp is giving her much needed help. Then all their friends start acting like crazy people and they really can't figure out why... Not until the party at least.

Equestria hasn't always been the magical place that every pony believes.

For as long as any pony could remember, the three pony tribes have lived in fear and discordance of each other for many, many moons, and has resulted in them separating. Earth ponies live in Maritime Bay, unicorns live in Bridlewood, and pegasi live in Zephyr Heights.

But a local pegasus named Neon Light will become a part of a group of ponies that'll help change that by spreading magic and friendship across the land.

And as time goes on, he'll discover more about himself and what he's capable of.

This story mainly takes place in G5 (including part of the movie, all of Make Your Mark, and a select few Tell Your Tale episodes), but will also include some short chapters that take place in G4.

Opals form from layer upon layer of microscopic silica spheres, the countless reflections brought on from eons of accretion giving impressions of nigh-infinite depth. Because there isn't a single crystal structure, they are more fragile than other gemstones, and can crack due to sudden changes in pressure or temperature.

Opaline Arcana is formed from layer upon layer of mental instabilities, the countless delusions brought on by eons of isolation giving impressions of nigh-infinite evil. And she already cracked a long time ago.

Now that Misty feels comfortable enough to discuss the topic, her new friends will find out just how deep the damage goes.

First it was stealing Sunny's lantern. Then it was snatching up little baby dragon Sparky. Misty has just failed in not one, but two critical missions Opaline ordered of her. Though she had tried her absolute hardest, that didn't stop Opaline from really letting her have it—so much so that Misty begins to reflect on where she's at in life.

Opaline has finally been defeated, but her words still hang heavily on Alphabittle's mind. How could somepony be so cruel for no reason? It's even worse, because she held Misty captive for so long. Desperate to gain some closure, Alphabittle invites Misty to the Crystal Tearoom for a talk.

Misty wakes up in the middle of the night, her body tired and her mind restless. She decides to walk around the Brighthouse for a bit to help calm her thoughts, only to notice Sunny’s bed completely empty, the earth pony nowhere in sight.
