Not much was known about Rainbow Dash's family life, until one day, her brothers decided to pay her a visit.

Snow. Everywhere there is snow. It lies in neat layers on roofs, in intricate crystalline networks in the branches of the bare trees, in hard-packed pathways underhoof. No clouds are in the sky to trap any of the sun's heat; light scatters off the snow in an infinity of golden glittery flecks and dances away back into the sky. The air is still, the main street of Ponyville quiet on this Tuesday midmorning. The ponies outside go about their business quickly, bundled in scarves and woolen hats and winter saddles and covered boots. Twilight Sparkle is one of these few.

One day, while deep in thought during a flight, Fluttershy finds herself flying over Sweet Apple Acres. She ends up helping Applejack harvest her apples, but she's got something that she's having trouble getting off her chest.

(My first pony fanfic! Originally posted on EqD back in March-April 2011. I'm pretty sure it was the first AJ/FS fic on EqD, a fact I like to tout because I am silly.

Being as it's my first work, I think I've improved quite a bit since then, but I'm still quite pleased with how it came out as a whole.)

Applejack takes Fluttershy home after a party. Written with a word-count of exactly 1000 words.

A prequel to The Necromantic Adventures of Lyra Heartstrings. Faeries are supposed to be grand arbiters of arcane knowledge to the world, right? Ancient warriors that can stand against the forces of evil and wield great magics against them without hesitation to protect the world? Beings of pure warmth that are willing to dispense their learning to those that dare approach them, right?

Fluttershy is not that sort of faerie.

Since the vampire bat incident, Sweet Apple Acres has been plagued by a thief who steals apples, but strangely leaves money for them. Determined to find out who - or what - the thief is, Applejack makes a surprising discovery...

Rose Bloom is even more timid than her mother, and Fluttershy is worried. She decides to help Rose get over her fears by introducing her to somepony really scary - Flutterbat.

The first 2000 words were written in one hour for the Quills and Sofas Halloween Spooktacular speedwriting contest. I finished the rest later on, after maybe 2-3 more hours.
