Long before Twilight and her friends met one another and began reforming villains, equestria had to deal with them much more harshly. To do this, Celestia and Luna once again relied on heroes to solve problems.

Steele Breaker, a young unicorn living with his uncle in a small village, is nothing more than a simple merchant. His talent, however, is swordsmanship. He practices when he can, using a sword left to him by his parents, but he rarely has the free time.

If only he knew just how much that sword was going to come in handy.

After the last battle with Stygian, Starswirl finds himself lost and alone not only in a different dimension, but also in another timeline.

Now he must discover a way to contact the other pillars and more importantly what happened to the Pony of Shadows to ensure at least he has been sent to limbo. But in order to accomplish his objective he must first seek help from the inhabitants of this new world.

Of course he did not count on finding some fellow Equestrian creatures among them. The problem is that one of them might be not so happy to see him again.

Now made aware of powerful possibilities, Adagio crafts a necklace for herself, and pursues a course to make sure she ends up on top. Because in the end, what's the point of pretending we're all the same, when some of us shine brighter?

Quiet Fire, who had been missing for four weeks prior to the destruction of Hoofington, begins to buckle under the pressure of being the sole key to saving Equestria and their realm from primal dangers. She must eventually come to terms with her own inner demons and her own element if she is to race against the clock to prevent the war from happening and to save her home of Equestria.

However, an unexpected turn of events happens. One of the Elements of Power has discovered an alternative realm, forcing Quiet Fire to journey into the realm in order to keep the balance from spiraling into a Calamity.

Every story focuses on the hero and some focus on the villain, but few focus on the one who plays the long game, the one who take moons to play a single piece in the Grand game of chess. The scales are always balanced; you don't often see why.

in this story, the character Eclipse a historian/scientist with seemingly no moral compass and no idea just how strong she has become writes a letter to twilight describing the history that has been lost by the ages and why she is contacting her, reviling just enuff to gain her trust without starting a war, probably.

In addition, she also wrights several chapters that are never seen by Twilight but are kept secret but describe how a lack of morals and a burning passion for learning developed the current timeline.
