During his investigation he soon learns that a mysterious individual, the one who called himself the Origami King, had launched an attack on the peaceful town and was now plotting to turn all of Equestria into a folded nightmare. In attempts to stop the twisted dictator, Mario, now accompanied by Olivia and Spike, must travel across Equestria taking out 5 colorful streamers that now protect Celestia's castle and rescue the Elements of Harmony in process.
