It's a beautiful morning in Canterlot, but Octavia Philharmonica is having trouble practicing. After her previous betrayal of one of her best and closest friends, she has been unable to move on, and her resulting emotional turmoil is disrupting her music. A mysterious friend drops by to help her redeem herself, but Octavia is unwilling to even consider that she could change. Will Octavia's friend be able to get through to her? And just who is she, anyway? Lunaverse story.

Fleur de Lis plucked the bottle from his hoof — using her magic, of course, lest his ugliness somehow sully the delicate white of her coat — and she downed it in one.

Following the return of Nightmare Moon, Canterlot was in turmoil. Noble houses and loyal ponies stood in defiance against the fallen Princess and perished. The Elements of Harmony cleansed the Nightmare, and the Princess of a millennium ago was returned, but the damage was done, and lives were torn asunder.

Noble House Vanity, a house repute of true self reflection and inner strength, lay in ruin, its thousand year history on the brink of closure. Viktor Vanity, one of the last living members of his house, desperate to save it from bankruptcy and ending the bloodline, takes matters into his own hooves. Faced with no other options, in his eyes, he transitions to marehood believing it will allow her to find a sympathetic suitor. However, things are not so simple when it goes beyond the game of politics after a mysterious murder of a friend in high standing and strange games of subterfuge begin to put the nobility at each others throats.

No longer is she and her house trying to rebuild, but survive a coming storm that could shatter the masquerade that the nobility dances about in its corrupt blissful ignorance and threaten all of Canterlot, if not all of Equestria.

Everypony strives for perfection, and the current de-Lis matriarch has it in abundance.

As an aristocrat, Fleur has everything anypony would ever want: money, stability and a wonderful family. Outside of basic court duties and mandatory meetings with other members of the nobility, her life is incredibly easy when viewed from the eyes of an outsider. Yet, as the time to renew her marriage vows draws closer, Fleur begins to feel existential disdain. A sense of dread fills her soul, and a melancholy settles over her-- not that anypony would know; after all, a vow-renewal is quite a stressful thing to plan.

She has never loved her husband, that much has always been clear. They both know why. At least they're friendly to each other. They have a child. Vows should be simple.

When Rarity comes to visit to help Fleur tailor her wedding dress, things come to a head as she realizes where her turmoil really lies.

Told in second person, "You" are the main character in this story. After living in Equestria for a bit, you decide to take a vacation to a prestigious city known as: "Las Pegasus." After a bit of sight seeing, you come across a mare who may very well change your life and make it... interesting, to say the least. And upon meeting her, you learn that sometimes things aren't what they seem on the outside and that image of any individual can be very deceptive. Anyone can put on a clown nose and pretend everything is okay while hiding behind a fake smile. But what are they really hiding behind the fake smile? And what will they do to keep it hidden?

The idea for this story originally came from an episode of an old TV show called M*A*S*H. Not gonna give the synopsis of the episode because it'll spoil it. Also, story's a one shot. So if you're expecting an update or further chapters, the end result MIGHT (most likely) disappoint you, so don't get your hopes up.

Even if this story is told in 2nd person I gave a name to the main char for the reason of making it flow a little smoother and a little easier to write. It's the name I'd use if I was a reader rather than the writer. Don't like the name? That's okay! Use someone else's name or even your own! You don't need my permission.

It is a time when, even with the merger of magic and machines, and despite the rise of social media and new ways to connect, ponies still find it difficult to find understanding and true friendship among the nets.

Life in Canterlot means having to deal with the MegaCorps. Maybe that means working for them. Maybe it means working against them. Maybe it means running a streaming channel and getting donations for flirting with viewers while you play video games.

Sunny Glow is the only one of her friends that has a real job. She probably should have asked those friends exactly what they do for a living, because they've gotten into a lot of trouble.

I probably could have gotten away with an E rating but I always err on the side of caution. I tried to make the cover art look a little like a sun-faded VHS cover, like I remember from my own youth.
