Apparently I'm better than I thought at rewriting stories. · 1:42am Mar 15th, 2017

Hey everyone.
Sorry this update came a little late today. Been busy with some holiday ordeals with the family.
The truth about Waking Nightmares...
...is that I'm burned out on it. I'm sorry. I just... don't like my work on it anymore. Looking back, I am just less and less happy with the story. Too many references, too many things just stitched in as new seasons cropped up... I started this story back in SEASON FRICKIN' TWO. It's cobbled together, a mishmash of this and that and the other thing... I just don't like it anymore.
Fast as lightning, sharp as a sword
Here's a clip of a rewrite for chapter 2 of "Equestria: Civil War". I decided to go through with the idea of having a new character take on much of Celestia's position and lines, so as to keep the harshness necessary, but keep Celestia in-character.
Here it is:
“Aww, don’t be such a frowny-puss!” Pinkie chirped. “I don’t think it really was that bad!”
I have been going back over the story, and sadly, much like what happened with my story Her Royal Suitors, the story isn't entirely as I envisioned.
While the story is dark in a lot of ways, the original plan I had for chapter three was a lot darker then what it turned out to be, especially in regards to how Twilight becomes the Princess Consort. I also had more flashback's planned, as well as a bigger battle between The princesses and the elements of harmony.
I stayed off this site for weeks and weeks. Things were getting in the way, for reasons I don't want to go into. During this brief respite from the hustle and bustle of bronylife, I found myself idly writing a little story entitled Somepony Tries to Sell Twilight Insurance, based on Ambrose Bierce's splendid definition of insurance from The Devil's Dictionary. When I finally got back on the 14th of June, I posted it, expecting it to gain me a dozen or so upvotes, and maybe even a couple of
It was while I was walking to a friends house last week that I realized I've been posting content to this venerable site for four years now. Four years! I'm amazed how quickly things have gone over that time. I'm also pretty amazed how much things have changed, both for me and the world as well. I'm very much a different person from who I once was: I'm not as lonely, nor am I as negative, and I'm learning to be a little more open and caring toward others. It's not by my doing that that's
The chapter Chosen By The Light will be going under a rewrite.
"Unforgotten" has been rewritten from the ground up, sticking closely to the original plans for the story. At 3.2k words, it's the longest chapter I've ever written for any story.
The next chapter is yet to be rewritten, so the old, plot-twisted version will remain up in the meantime. ^_^
Plot-Twisted "Corrupted Twilight" chapters will be reposted under the upcoming story "Pony-Me: Rogue".
Okay, sorry this update got out a little later in the day, but rest assured progress is still chugging along.
I think I need a kick in the ass this time.
Seriously, in terms of getting shit done, this has been about the worst two weeks I've had since I started making these updates. To make matters worse is that it's not really due to anything other than my own laziness. Well, mostly laziness. I've made staggering progress in rewriting the same fucking scene for two weeks straight, but not much else beyond that.
I need to get my shit together.
Greetings from my college's library.
Textbook Soldier's rewrites will be released here soon along with Chapter 10! One editor is finished with the rewrites, but I'm still waiting on the others to finish up. When they go out, I'll try and post a recap blog post of what's new and what's been removed. Maybe I'll format it like patch notes to entertain myself until I get to the part where I have to format it like patch notes. That's where it gets you.
So sorry about the delay all you sissy spike fans vut the rewrite has started and it is going well. I have already started writing the first chapter and let me tell you it is almost twice the size of the original if not 3 times. So i will start typing it out soon. Also looking for a proof reader/editor to help with gramer and spelling and phrasing issues pm me if interested. Well got to go for now talk to yall later
I'm finally editing Ruby. The prologue will be rewritten and posted by tomorrow and chapter 1 will be posted by about the same time or later on Sunday. Whatever comes first. Fair warning, alot of the original story is changed to either shorten the story or drag it out. Especially in chapters 1 and 2. Yes, it was rusted and thats why I'm fixing it. The same story remains and the ending is still a bit of a mystery.
As the title suggests, I am not dead.
I know it's been a while since my last update, either on the story, or of my progress. But don't lose faith. It's taking a bit longer than I intended, but the rewrites are still underway. They're over half done, now. The deeper I get into the story, the more gets added and improved. I'm quite excited for it, and have even got some pretty well-known authors helping me out to iron out some of the issues from before.
I am at a cross-roads here so im giving you a choise.
Should I either
A: Make a new story containing the Rewrite and remove the old one. going with B
Or
B: keep the current story up but change it to the rewrite version.
I dont know what to do so im leaving it up to you guys
So, I was rereading what I had of chapter 10 and... didn't convince me, maybe because I start writting in the middle of the examns or something like that, but it don't have the mojo of my story (mojo= the cool) so, I'm going to rewrite, somethings are going to still, but the road of the chapter, is going to change in something better, with more tense moments, so the description of the chapter 10 is going to had some changes.
In April, I made this blog post: "Where That Story Went Today."
After a newly posted story of mine was analyzed and critiqued in considerable detail by an especially skilled writer whose thoughts I took (and still take) seriously, I unpublished the story while it was still very new.
