Review of the Iliad, or, The Rage of Bad Horse · 4:22pm May 17th, 2016

Western civilization began with the ancient Greeks, and the ancient Greeks agreed unanimously that their religion, ethics, and poetry began with The Iliad. So that's where my review of Western literature will begin.

Pliny the Elder (Gaius Plinius Secundus, 23-79AD): Roman military commander of the equestrian class, writer and naturalist. Author of the ten volume Natural History documenting the animals, vegetables and minerals of the ancient world. Tragically he got a little too close to his subject matter and was killed during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius.

September 11th · 5:22am Sep 11th, 2015

I would to take this time to ask everyone to sit down and remember those we lost on September 11th, 2001. I wasn't personally in New York but I saw it happen on TV and to this day i'm still deeply effected. Let's take a moment to reflect on what we lost and hope that they are in a better place.

Never forget.

Stripe Like Zecora Day · 11:00pm Sep 4th, 2014

Science with ponies is the game I play,
And today it is 'Type Like Zecora day',
So I can't resist the silly new game,
To write a short post with this curious aim.

I think the time is surely ripe,
To look at the root of a zebra stripe,
Why did these equines evolve just so,
With black and white streaks from head to toe?

A camouflage trick? Set to confuse,
Their predators by the dazzling views,
A fair guess, but it seems not quite right,

War Anthologies Part 0 - Explanations. · 12:45am Aug 9th, 2016

Okay this is sort a monthly thing I will be doing. Basically I will going through a board span of the major wars that have happened throughout the history of my main universe(Flash Saga, Twilily Saga, and the future Spike Ryu Saga) . I'm doing this because I have been told my universe is a little too big to keep up with.

But anyway I'll post a blog once a month base around this series. As stated above, this will be Anthologies, so they will simple go over the basics.

Day 3, 15th Century · 4:07pm Dec 3rd, 2017

Today we're entering the Renaissance with a famous carol. You might recognize the tune as "O Come, O Come Emmanuel." Here I'm presenting the original in its Latin text.

E3: History · 5:14pm Jan 11th, 2020

As Red Tome and Twilight walk along the main thoroughfare of the convention, Twilight is eager to learn more about the handsome young stallion who has joined her.

Twilight: "It is interesting how enthusiastic you are about the Pre-Equestrian history. What was your primary focus?"

Red Tome: "Ah. Grogar, and his history. It's actually far more indepth than the storybook."

Twilight: "Really? Give me an example."

Update - story published: Time on Their Hooves

I've almost finished the first draft of a new story, which at over 25,000 words, is my longest to date. It still needs a lot of work before it will be ready for publication. Like most my stuff, this one has a good dose of science, but (I hope) it also has significant merit as a story.

Day 13: 1829. · 8:10pm Dec 13th, 2017

While it came be argued that this carol was written sometime in the 18th century, I'm just going by its publication date as well as try to find the best, original recording I could find. In this case, since it's a well known hymn, I figured the best one that might be the closest to how it sounded at its premier might be this one.

Modernist politics: Stalin and Hitler versus Hollywood · 3:58am May 1st, 2014

I just listened to Perl's lecture on modernism and politics, and also, by chance, read part of a book by F. Scott Fitzgerald called On Booze, which both cast light on the strange politics of literary modernists in the 1930s.

This post is poorly-organized, slightly cracked, and probably a waste of time. If you're not curious about the symbiosis between modernism and extremist politics, skip it.

The Cownestoga Wagon · 2:22am Mar 7th, 2016

A heavy all-terrain covered wagon, capable of carrying some 6 tons of cargo and passengers when pulled by a full team of four or more Earth Ponies, and generally requiring at least two to properly manage its considerable bulk, the Cownestoga Wagon was invented around YOH 1300-1340, and played an important role in the internal expansion of Equestria, particularly in the late 14th to early 15th centuries.

Why Fallout Equestria? · 9:49pm Dec 16th, 2015

I've always asked myself this question, and i'm sure a lot of authors ask why they wrote specific stories. Fallout Equestria~ A marvelous take on both our favorite things (or at least my favorite things) Ponies, and Fallout. A world created by the wonderful Kkat, and who would have known, such a story could throw so much at the meaning of my little pony, fan fictions. Fallout Equestria Books, animations, music, and art. All became possible because of one author, Kkat~ Thank you.
