Y’all recall how for the last six years I’ve done the Derpy Accidentally a Portal Gun series?
Y’all recall how for the last six years I’ve done the Derpy Accidentally a Portal Gun series?
As prompted by somepony I regard as a friend this blog will be dedicated to a few people that have made a positive impact on my life and whom I wish to tribute.
Do you like Karaoke? Do you like Dodge Ball?
Have you ever wondered what would happen if you combined the two?
If I tell you the author I was assigned for Jinglemas is the only fimfiction author I have a T-shirt bearing the name of, then that rather gives his identity away, doesn't it?
It's rather nice to be assigned an author who you've read several stories by. It increases the pressure, I suppose, but it also gives you a clearer idea of what to aim for.
First of March, it's clear to me
There's something that's uncomforting. . .
Here I am again, about a fortnight after the first "Every Page a Painting", locked and loaded with a second one, whether you wanted it or not. Enjoy.
(Disclaimer: everything you see here is work in progress and subject to change.)
This is the collection of gifs, images and whatever else I’ve been hoarding on my user page. There were well too many to actually load them all (It works fine for me, just not anyone else unfortunately.) So! I decided to store them somewhere.
Most of these images probably won’t load for you the first, second, third, or thousandth time. Just trust me, there’s roughly a thousand or so gifs/images/whatever else here. So uh.
So, years ago there was an author on this site who went by the name RealityCheck. He's since left this site for another site due to disagreements with the mods here, but he was also a frequent blogger. One time, he used this blog to introduce a story idea that he didn't have time to write himself for whoever wanted to use it: an alternate universe where Celestia gave the Elements of Harmony to new ponies after Nightmare
So where do we begin with this? Obviously, this fic is for Admiral Biscuit's contest challenge which has no deadline and no prizes. However, this is a thing I've been wanting to do for a long time since I love slice of life, I much prefer 'ponies on Earth' as opposed to 'humans in Equestria', and I'm a fan of his work. While this isn't my first ponies on Earth fic, I haven't wanted to step on AB's toes since, frankly, he created and defined the 'ponies working on earth' genre of fics.

My birthday present to the site. That's right, it's my birthday and I'm giving everyone else a present.
Now that I've got your attention, let me first indulge myself by telling you how I, Admiral Biscuit, predicted the future through fanfic.
I promise you this is relevant.
A road trip so incredible it could only be done the same way people did them way back in the Middle Ages the 1970s. In a station wagon, with no cell phone or GPS. The only way it could've been more '70s retro was if there was simulated woodgrain paneling on my Volvo. The destination?
Special thanks to ROBCakeran53 for pre-reading and telling me what I already knew but still needed to hear. He wrote An Even Worse Self-Insert, you know.
So, this has been a work years in the making. I was going to wait until chapter 2 was completely finished before publishing this, but then I got a nice comment from FanOfMostAnything of all people asking if there was more, and I guess that motivated me to go ahead and put it up. Thanks Fan!
So, yeah... due to that mishap with my internet on Wednesday, I am having a review today:
Pinkie Pie's Last Nightmare Night by Admiral Biscuit
Pinkie Pie Places Her Tongue on a Polar-temperature Pole by Justice3442
Anyone You Want Me To Be by naturalbornderpy
Happy Monday, folks! And what a Monday it is. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and the eldritch monstrosities from beyond the stars have been beaten back to the far side of the Moon, with everyone’s memories of their attack erased.
Good times.

I am only operating at a fraction of my total productivity – I got almost nothing done yesterday – but I did manage to get another review set done (well, apart from Read It Now #100, a very special read it now).
There’s so much more I could do if only I could focus myself better.

Today is the first day of my Hearth's Warming Reviews, and I do hope you enjoy these:

There are times, my friends, when you feel the zeitgeist – the spirit of the times – and you must write.
For George Orwell, it produced Nineteen Eighty Four, as he viewed the creeping totalitarianism of the world around him.
For me, it produced The Collected Poems of Maud Pie, written in a single night while channeling Maud.
And for Admiral Biscuit… for Admiral Biscuit, it produced… this.
Today I’m going to pseudo-officially start that series of editing advice blogs I’ve been thinking about for a while now.
As with yesterday’s Read It Later reviews, four of the five stories in this set came from Scribblefest. As was the case yesterday, please note that my opinion on these stories is not the final word for that contest; we are merely in the preliminary round of judging, and three judges read each of these stories. I am but one of nine judges involved in this, so… yeah.
Anyway! Onto the reviews!
