To Double Space or Not to Double Space · 7:35am Apr 22nd, 2017
I've been writing my first story here on the site. Though, there has been one thing that has been plaguing my thoughts. Should I be double spacing my paragraphs or not?

Grammar and Punctuation
'Ello, mate! 'ow are ya? Glad to have ya here. Ya wanna learn 'bout grammar and punctuation, eh? Ya've come to the right place!
Just kidding. I don't speak that way.
Anyway...
I'm very sorry I've neglected to begin the lessons as I'd planned before. However, my excuse is completely relevant, as I've been busy with more life stuffs. Allow me the next week to get around to it, as it will be quite the lesson to start out with. Thanks for the patience!
I wrote something! Didn't think I'd ever get it past the mods but I did!
Plz check it out Here
Hi all, I know you probably weren't expecting this, but I need a proofreader. I think my fanfictions are okay, but I'm having a huge problem, typos. Pretty much every writer has these problems, and I try my hardest to minimilize them. But I can't always catch all them. So, I need someone to help me out. I have them all on google docs, so, all I need is someone to go on there and correct any errors you may find. I'd be more than happy to give you credit for doing so. And if you don't want to,
Good morning all!
Just wondering, how good is your grammar? I took a quick free test online. I fumbled through a lot of it, but managed to get a 70/100. I decided I needed to brush up on my grammar, so I just wanted to see where I was on a basic level. Guess I could use with a refresher course or something, heh.
Good Wording: Parts of Speech
In general, words have characteristics that enable them to function in language:
• Words have meaning.
• Words can be joined together into structures, such as phrases, clauses, and sentences.
• Words take different forms that determine their meaning and dictate how they fit together.
Now that I've archived the disks, I've decided to try out the program in DOSBox with the currently-in-progress chapter of Pony-Me. Outside of being slightly buggy when dealing with a file format that's almost thirty years newer than the program itself, it actually works surprisingly well!
"Oh Tumbleweed!" you cry.
"Please, tell us, the few dozen or so people still writing ponyfic in the year of 2020-- how can we make our ponyfic BETTER?"
"Also in retrospect we probably should have asked this question a lot sooner. Still, seeing as of how you are BEST AT PONIES, what sage wisdom do you have to offer in this bleak time?"
WELL LET ME TELL YOU.
I don't understand why people are so indifferent to me. All I'm asking is for someone to look over my story and point out the writing errors I made. Is that so wrong? Someone said they'd look over it last night, but they never got back to me. I've tried reaching out to a few people, but received no reply. Please, everyone! I need to get those errors fixed by Saturday, otherwise it'll be too late. I really want to do well in that contest, and I need that story to be perfect. Please, don't leave
The TLDR of this is English changes over time, and is a diversified language with may distinct dialects. You should check to see what English dialect a piece is written in before saying "I didn't eat no dinner." is wrong, because in several English dialects, that is infact the correct way to convay that information, and "I didn't eat any dinner." would be wrong. Isn't language fun?

Google Docs is trying to correct "a lot" to "alot"!
This is an absolute travesty.
I get it; grammar is confusing. I mean, there's a reason why I make these blog posts on grammar—it's because I know it's confusing, I do research so I can be less confused, and I figured some of my readers could benefit from that research. But that brings to mind the operative question: why? Why do we care about something so trivial as where to place dots with little twiddles at the ends? The answer is, as many things are, complicated.
In my previous post about different ways of measuring authors' popularity and quality, I introduced the "thumbscore per view" measure (TPV), which is
TPV = (thumbs_up - 9.027 * (thumbs_down+1)) / views
This is a rating of a story or of an author, which has an average value of zero over all the stories on FimFiction.net.
See its one thing to give constructive criticism it's another to be entirely disrespectful and a fucking asshole in someone's comment section just because they aren't the best at editing.
I work hard on my stories and do my best with editing but I has ADHD and can't catch every single error that pops up.
So if your gonna be a grammar Nazi? Go the fuck away I don't want you or your support here.
Just throwing this out there. If anyone is writing, but don't have a proofreader, I find Grammarly to be a good help. The free version does a lot to help, but until 28th, they are having a sale for half off. Just $69.98 for a full year. If paying that much isn't what you're looking for, the free version is very good just by itself.
