My favorite grammatically educational poem (lay vs laid) · 7:26pm Dec 25th, 2017
I'm lying here upon the shore
I lie here every day
I've lain here many times before
I lay here yesterday
i would lay my head upon the floor
If you would lie down by me
I've laid it there five times or more
(I lied - it's only three)
Infinitive Present Past Past Participle Present Participle
to lay lay(s) laid laid laying
(to put or place something down)
to lie lie(s) lay lain lying
(to rest or recline in bed)
Do you know of any educational poem? Feel free to post it in the comments.
I wish I could favorite a blog.
4758965 To be honest, I mostly made this blog so that I could have it handy when I'm in doubt about lied/lay usage.
Edit: On that note, I'll just leave this here:
nighttime/night-time/night time
I'll have to write this down somewhere. Thank you for sharing this
As for me, I have one to help with the different parts of speech.

4758997 I just found my new favorite poem. Thank you for posting it. I might even try to learn it someday.
Don't know any educational poems off the top of my head, but I vaguely remember there were example ones for different poetic forms in Stephen Fry's The Ode Less Travelled.
Also, I'm curious about the poem in the OP. Did you invent it yourself?
4826251 No, I didn't write it. I think I found it when I googled for the right form of the word to use in my novel. I kept getting these confused.
