Ending D: Destroy the Octahedron

Twilight and Starlight gasp as the octahedron shatters. Bright blue magic shoots out in every direction, blinding them temporarily. When they regain their vision they see Anon bent over, doing his best to catch his breath.

"What did you do?!"

"I'm... I'm trusting in Solaria."

"What?!"

"No more pocket dimensions. We're going to do what we do best, and protect those we care about."

"Have you SEEN what's going on out there?" Starlight's voice is somewhat frantic. "I don't know how much we can really do!"

"We have to try! I don't know how long it will take, but SOME day, humanity will regain its senses! Then... then we can all live in peace again!"

Twilight and Starlight look at Anon, taking a moment to process his words. Finally, Twilight nods.

"You're right. We can't just lock our fears away forever." She walks up to Anon and places a hoof in his hand. "No matter what happens, I'll be right there with you, Nonny."

"Th-thank you..." A blush creeps its way onto Anon's cheeks. "...Mom."

Twilight smiles, Anon's words giving her a brief feeling of respite among the chaos ensuing around them. After a few seconds, they both turn to look at Starlight. She gulps, but after a moment's hesitation, she nods as well.

"Alright. Let's... do our best, I suppose." She nervously smiles. "I'm with you, too."

With one final group acknowledgement, the three depart from the vault, unsure of what they're going to do next, but knowing that they'll do it together.

In the middle of an Equestrian field, a human woman suddenly wakes up, gasping for breath as she does so. She sits up and immediately clutches her aching head. Where is she? Last she checked, she was enjoying a nice cup of coffee at home.

She isn't the only one experiencing this, either. All across Equestria, millions of humans awaken at about the same time, completely unaware of where they are or how they got there. Many are greeted by candy-colored ponies. Some of these ponies greet them with open hooves, while many more greet them with hostility. One thing is certain: Many lives are about to change.

And change they did. It took some time, but many of the good-natured ponies around Equestria explained to the confused, displaced humans where they were. This was the humans' original dimension, they explained, and upon their sudden return, they lost control of themselves while their bodies adjusted to the new, magical environment. However, it took some time. Many lives, both human and pony, were lost. But, the ponies held on, doing what they needed to survive.

And now, here they are. With clear minds and smaller populations on both sides, humans and ponies began to work together to rebuild. Equestria was forever different after that, built from the ground-up to accommodate BOTH of its dominant species.

Around this time, among the rubble of a long-toppled castle in what was once Ponyville, a group consisting of both humans and ponies discovered the remains of a moppy headed human and a purple alicorn, each holding the other tight in their final moments. Just who were they? How did a human and a pony get along before humanity recovered? Did they play a role in humanity's sudden appearance in Equestria, or were they completely unrelated? Regardless of the answers to these questions, one thing is certain.

Humanity's recovery took a few hundred years too many for them to see the fruits of their labor.

An alternative version of Generation 5.

Damn, this story hits hard…

Ending A: Anon fixes his mess but lives with the guilt for the rest of his life.

Ending B: Anon and the rest of Humanity return from whence they came, with Anon being none the wiser. Twilight lives on with the memory of him.

Ending C: Anon chooses for Equestria to take Humanity’s place in the octahedron. He rules/guides Humanity while he watches over the octahedron for the rest of his days.

Ending D: Anon lets things play out as they should have so long ago. And both he and Solaria’s wish came true, but only after a few hundred years of strife…

Honestly, I did like both ending A and D the most. In A, Anon lives with that guilt of what he had done, but he lives his life with the acceptance of those around him and manages to dive further into the realm of magical studies. Hell, he also managed to marry Starlight Glimmer, I’d call that a win for him.

D? Well D is very realistic. Sure it may not be all sunshine and rainbows, but it shows the dark reality of needing to face problems head on instead of hiding it away. And Solaria was right, it needed time but eventually Humans finally adapted to the magic around them. Makes you think what could’ve been in this reality had Humanity never been trapped in the first place…

Overall, really loved this story! I don’t know about others, but I wouldn’t be apposed to having more stories like this in the future, along with multiple endings to give that extra perspective :)

njnj. As HallowedPrince mentioned, I'm a fan of endings A and D. Longer stories are always a treat too

Imo I think you do better with one or 2 shots idk if you have done a mutilchapter story b4 if you have I haven't read it only read your 1 shots so far. Either way I give this story a 8/10

Thank you for the feedback!

I liked A and D, but if I had to pick one, I'd pick D.

It may not have been a happy ending for the main characters, but like life, not everyone gets a happy ending, and in the end, it was for the good of everyone, both humans and ponies. After hundreds of years, they can finally co-exist as it should have been instead of just burying and forgetting the problem. I won't say they're in harmony, cause there are still hostilities for the lives lost, but even further in the future, as they both work to rebuild Equestria the past will be forgiven, and Humans and Ponies will once again live in harmony as Solaria envisioned.

I'm sorry if I offended you, I was just trying to be more concise, but it went wrong

about the history
After the banishment they were able to continue investigating to understand what went wrong and repair the damage, but they decided to sweep everything under the rug. and erase the whole thing from history

and by the way Celestia acts, it can be seen that she has no intention of freeing humans even if they are healed.

You just have to see how I treat the first human resistant to magic

P.S
this is the definition of disease

disease
Mild or serious alteration of the normal functioning of an organism or of any of its parts due to an internal or external cause.

I guess I can see it being a disease kinda hard for me To at least cause it's magic related considering humans were fine before the unification and needed a 100 yrs to burn the extra magic out of there system. by magic related I mean it wasn't spread through bodily fluids they were gonna change no.matter what once the magic was to much for them n only affected humans. Thinking back on it I'm pretty sure I got disease n virus confuse either way good talk.

Honestly, having four different endings seemed like a copout to me - which I realize is ironic since all four of them actually had to be written, which is extra work. But hey, I read them all, so I guess I can't complain.

It was interesting to read something longer and more serious rather than the romance fluff that we're used to. More to come in the future?

Anon's Pie Adventure, by Pencils.

I consider in the end A the happy/bad ending, Final B the neutral/happy ending, Final C the neutral/bad and Final D the real happy/bad ending

The first because although Anon stayed, his parents never knew him, what’s more, he made them forget him and the human "world" is still ignorant that they are trapped in another dimension

The second because Anon was able to follow his life as a child and lived a long happy life before the attentive look of his adoptive mother, who although it pains him that he has made the decision that I make and the forgotten one, still loves him with all that he has... To the end

The third because Anon will suffer for the rest of his life for the decision he made and the position he was given, with his only joys being to see his parents and as the Equestria I believe continues without him in a lie

And the last one for obvious reasons, but I’ll still put it, it was an all-or-nothing bet, the ponies or the humans could have disappeared, the story was forgotten and Anon with Twilight died in an unknown manner probably turned/sealed into stone condemned by the action they took... But they placed their hopes in the future, that someday humans and monsters- Errr this is not Undertale - humans and Ponys could live in harmony without killing each other... But it also leaves me with another doubt, didn’t humans age from their transformation? Because when they started remembering who they were, one remembered having been drinking coffee before being there... and the seal broke 100 years ago...
