Once upon a time, in the magical land of Equestria...

One week ago, Twilight Sparkle was crowned the fourth Princess of Equestria. Tonight, Ponyville hosts the 1003rd Summer Sun Celebration, and Princess Celestia and Princess Luna want a vacation. With two fine young princesses like Cadance and Twilight to take over for them, nothing could possibly go wrong.

The Trial of The Champion is a time honored event between Celestia's Sun Guard and Luna's Moon Guard. The event is used to remember the founding events of their forefathers who had guarded the princesses long ago. This year, however, two newly formed regiments have been allowed to compete in the week long events. Princess Cadence's Legion of the Heart and Princess Twilight's Witch Brigade.

When a mishap occurs with Celestia's bathroom scale, an ancient protocol that may just doom Equestria is set into motion. With the entire palace staff now conspiring against her, the sun goddess must not only contend mountains of paper work, dancing celery sticks, and steroid pumped stallions, but a sister who will take this chance to torture Celestia any way she can as payback for her banishment. Lock the cupboards and barricade the fridge! It's the Royal Diet!

A year after Princess Twilight's coronation, a guard interrupts a conversation between her, Princess Celestia, and Princess Luna. "Changelings! Queen Chrysalis and her Changelings are right outside Canterlot!"
"Really? What are they doing?"
"Um...they're...they're just waiting...politely..."
"Well, then. Please tell them that I will be with them shortly."
"What?!"

Princess Twilight Sparkle is expecting her friends to arrive in Canterlot. But when the train doesn't arrive on time she, naturally, starts to fear the worst.

Although Spike tries to reassure her that all is well with her friends, the nervous Princess can't help but think of a few reasons which could be to blame for the sudden and inexplicable delay.

When the train finally does arrive she learns the real reason for the delay — though it's not exactly what she was expecting it to be.

Prince Sombra has just inherited the crystal empire from his late Father. The young Prince is grief stricken but tries to find happiness in his dark times. Having the Grand Galloping Gala going on in Canterlot seems like the best place to go for a good time. Upon arriving he surprise to see the reason why his family never went to these sort of things. Many believe that this is the last Gala that King Dawnbreaker will be alive for. His two daughters Celestia and Luna are suspected to be have begun training in the art of raising the day and night. With the entertainment of the evening being a barbaric circus run by slaves, Sombra tries to save the performers afterwards from their life of misery. He fails to safe them all but he does manage to save one. A young changeling. Taking her away and inserting her into his daily life, she soon becomes a close friend to him. Eventually Sombra starts to feel that there is something more between them. What fallows is a tale of passion which leads to many changes in the life of the young prince. Sombra spirals down the path of blind love not caring what may happen.
"Love can sometimes blind us to reason. Which leads to insanity."

We all know the song; "First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes a baby in a big fat carriage!" Except, Celestia skipped the marriage part.

Three years after her defeat, Nightmare Moon has risen to power again, followed by a brainwashed army of Equestrians, and an army of undead, ghost-like ponies. Since Celestia is unfit to battle, she leaves the burden to her younger sister, Princess Luna.

Meanwhile, the secrets of Equestria are unraveled to Princess Cadence and the Elements of Harmony.

Before Luna and Celestia became Princesses, they were just two normal ponies. But when a new foe attacks Equestria, the two must embark on an adventure to fulfill their destinies.

After becoming an alicorn, Twilight heads to the Canterlot Library for information about what she has become. What she finds is a confusing pile of myths and contradictions. To get her answers she will have to hear the truth from Luna and Celestia themselves.

Two months after the initial changeling invasion of Canterlot, Celestia invites Chrysalis back to the kingdom to patch things up and negotiate an act of peace between the changelings and ponies. But, even with increased security measures and more guards to wave a hoof at, it's still not enough to absolve the two of their bitter pasts.
