It's been five years since our surrender. Things have gotten better, but we have a long way to go before our home is repaired and our name redeemed. I have spent these five years working nonstop to fix all the mistakes my former teacher left us.

The war is finally over. We ponies have lost. Our plan to convert humanity into ponies has failed. Hundreds of thousands are dead. Homes destroyed. Our nation is shattered and near annihilation. All because we underestimated humanity and their refusal to become like us.

I alone now hold the fate of my people in my hooves against the humans who want nothing more than to destroy us for the so called atrocities we have committed against them. I've lost my friends one way or another. My family. My fellow Princesses.

I have but one duty and that is, reluctantly, to see that we are shown mercy.

I'm just afraid of the cost. Or what I will learn from this.

My name is Private Halberd Wings of 139th Arial Spear Regiment's 2nd Platoon.

My home, Equestria, came to Earth fourteen years ago in order to help a species called humanity who was on the brink of destroying themselves with their hatred, technology, and greedy ways. The Princesses, in their great wisdom, offered a chance to save them from themselves by making them ponies like us. However, they rejected us, and now we're at war.

I have joined the cause to defend Equestria and see these humans are given a proper future guided by friendship and harmony. It doesn't matter what comes our way for Equestria has never lost a war and we will not lose one now. With the fires of friendship, and the guidance of our Princesses, we will be victorious!

Sometimes, it takes an alicorn to solve a murder. Long before the return of Nightmare Moon, Princess Celestia is the only such power, and the responsibility falls on her shoulders every time.

Her methods are more than a little unorthodox.

When those creatures came from a different planet to convert our race, we didn't stand a chance.

Twilight tries to bring something from our world to Equestria, but she fails. Unfortunately, failing a spell of this caliber doesn't guarantee you a perfectly healthy human.

A twist on the overused HIE plot point.

There are two very important things to remember when you cross realities:

1) Every living thing that sets foot in Equestria gets magic if it doesn't have it already.
2) There are three pounds of bacteria living on and in the human body.

Everything goes exactly as expected when two alien cultures meet.
