For the first time in her life, Scootaloo has a reason to look forward to the Sisterhooves Social. At least, she thinks she does. It's just a matter of figuring out whether or not she can invite the pegasus she has in mind.

Surely one of the posters scattered throughout town would have some details on the event, right?

Scootaloo has always idolized Rainbow Dash. The Sisterhooves Social even gave her an opportunity to get closer to her. Their victory had managed to do just that. But after the social was when they bonded the most.

Guardians come in many colours and personalities, protecting others or misusing their power. Rainbow Dash is just one of them. As she encounters her favourite filly Scootaloo alone after dark, she soon finds herself tangled up in a complicated network of protégés and presumed protectors, both from the present and the past.

Rainbow Dash has decided that she is going to spend some much needed quality time with her honorary little sister, Scootaloo. In doing so, she finds out more about Scoots than she planned, and that the filly really is in need of an older sister.

And she will be that big sister.

I'm posting this as an AU, mainly because it deviates from canon just after Sleepless In Ponyville. Plus, future installments will be later episodes that are set in this storyline.

Scootaloo has always turned to Rainbow Dash through the biggest moments of her life: getting her cutie mark, flying for the first time, when she graduated from school. But you don't stop growing up just because your body does. Some lessons take time to sink in, and someone to share them with.

With her friends out of town for the holiday it's looking like Scootaloo will have a very lonely Hearth's Warming Eve. As fate would have it her honorary big sister is having a similar problem.

Rainbow Dash is practicing flying tricks. She spots Scootaloo, and they spend some time together.

Takes place after Sleepless in Ponyville and before Crusaders of the Lost Mark.

Rainbow Dash prepares to read a story to Tank, only to end up reading it to somepony else as well.

The cutie mark crusaders all received their cutie marks together. The three best friends were overjoyed with them, though the Pegasus member, Scootaloo, is unsure how to feel about hers.

This story is a sequel to To Disappear

Rainbow Dash must teach her newly adopted 'sister' how to fly, however difficulties and painful memories obscure the course.
