"It is ready!" On the other side of the world, an evil mastermind laughed in glee as he showed his faithful minion his latest creation. "This material... It is the ultimate defense! The truly unbreakable glass!"

"Superb, my liege! Nothing in existence can destroy it?!"

"Aaaah, but there exists my genius! I purposely gave it a weakness against something so that it would be strong against everything else!"

"Huuuu, I don't think materials work like a person's five senses, my-"

"A sound that no human being in the world has ever made and no one will ever utter! Mwahahahahahah-" The glass panel suddenly shattered in a bajillion pieces. The two lab-coat wearing men stared.

"... Should we maybe go back to project phase, my liege?"

"My name is Lyra Heartstrings, and you will not remember me. You won't even remember this conversation. Just like with everypony else I've ever met, everything I do or say will be forgotten. A visitor arrives in Equestria, bearing a wealth of knowledge and a troubled past. The Mane 6 are quick to befriend the stranger, who helps them to discover what they truly value in life, and how to achieve it.

But learning to overcome their fears and achieve their desires comes at a steep price, paid by their innocence.

Usually when you are killed, you die. Of course there are exceptions to every rule. Usually those exceptions don't end up in a world full of colorful talking ponies with 3 other people from random points of Earth's history, but hey, I can't complain too much. Now if we can just figure out what happened, how we ended up in Equestria, and who is responsible for this mix up...

As a student in Canterlot, Twilight Sparkle didn't have time for friends. Now, she's relocated to the slow-paced, country village of Ponyville, where she has instant access to the local library and doesn't even need to room with her old assistant, Spike. But the best part is that she has friends now: not the boring, interruptive, time-wasting friends that she always dreaded one day having, but true friends. Loyal friends. Best friends. Now Twilight is truly happy, and nothing can kill her mood!

It seems the evil in her new home will have to be content with killing the pony herself instead...

This story is a sequel to The Rainbow's Surprise

On the day of Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash's wedding, Princess Celestia left Twilight a message saying that she should prepare herself if something happens. The next morning, Twilight awakens to find that all of Ponyville has succumb to a blinding fog. She must now travel a monster-filled town in search for her teacher and friends and try to return Ponyville back to the way it was.

Twilight Sparkle just can't find enough time in the day. She has to study friendship for the Princess, hang out with her five friends, and juggle her own hobbies and interests besides. But when a novel solution presents itself in the form of an experimental new spell, will it solve her time crunch, or will she be distracted even further?

Rainbow Dash is the bravest, most fearless pony in all of Equestria. But when she is visited by nightmares for the first time in many years, can Dash swallow her pride and seek comfort from a small pink pony and some delicious hot beverages? And is this the ideal opportunity to reveal feelings she has kept repressed for so long?

A horrible Cataclysm has turned all of Equestria into a Wasteland of barren ash and twilight desolation. The Sun and the Moon have been destroyed. Everypony has died--including Princesses Luna and Celestia. But one pony miraculously survives; she is a lone wanderer, the last of her kind, surrounded by menacing creatures that hate her. She navigates the Wastes in an airship and scavenges off the blighted landscape to keep herself alive.

Then one day she meets an old companion who grants her a gift, the chance to go back in time to the warm and sunny days of Ponyville, where her dead friends live in happiness.
