There are very few moment in life that we will remember. The ones that we do are filled with the melody, joy, or sorrow. Each one will change our own song that carries us through life. When one's own song is burdened by despair, lost in pain and confusion, they must reach out or their song will be lost. If they don't, then someone must help them to see the light in their song and then help them feel notes that are carried by the early morning light.

Sometimes, ponies get busy. Sometimes, sorry isn't enough. Sometimes, good things start to fall apart and nothing can fix them. Even though she's been dating Fluttershy for a while now, Applejack is lonely. Something needs to change.

Separation can leave two lovers feeling saddened by their inability to confide and comfort the other, Twilight and Fluttershy are no exception to this feeling. Forced to separate for a time both feel the need to come together once more.

The mane six celabrate their second Hearthswarming together a few days before they all leave for the real deal with their own families. Same as last year they exchange a single gift. Some are mundane, others carry a slightly deeper meaning.
