Sick of seeing Rainbow Dash lazing around in her apple orchard, Applejack bets that the pegasus couldn't last a full year working the land, a challenge Rainbow refuses to back down from. As the seasons pass though, the two ponies find their friendship growing stronger as they spend time working together, through good times and bad. While the days grow shorter and cooler, the two friends find that maybe they have the chance to become something a little more.

Vinyl Scratch has travelled with Princess Luna to the far off land of South Island, the homeland of the kangaroos in order to return an ancient artefact to it's resting place. The two ponies quickly find themselves walking across the South Island Outback where they meet an old friend along the way.

It's the few hours after the Grand Galloping Gala. After the party ends and the ponies are satisfied (mostly satisfied) they attend Pinkie Pies planned After-Gala surprise party within Twilights library. The proceedings are interrupted halfway though when an extraterrestrial monster finds its way into the library...
