Twilight's trying to find out what makes earth ponies special, and her efforts start a chain of events that lead to Applejack and Rainbow Dash hooking up, and Applejack trying to be the iron pony to the point of endangering herself seriously. Sick of seeing Rainbow Dash lazing around in her apple orchard, Applejack bets that the pegasus couldn't last a full year working the land, a challenge Rainbow refuses to back down from. As the seasons pass though, the two ponies find their friendship growing stronger as they spend time working together, through good times and bad. While the days grow shorter and cooler, the two friends find that maybe they have the chance to become something a little more.

Rainbow Dash has been practicing a set of stunts that she's sure will impress the Wonderbolts, but one in particular has been giving her difficulty and she attempts to enlist the aid of a friend.

I stopped a few feet from Pinkie Pie's door, feeling the bass vibrate the ground beneath my hooves. There was an uneasiness in my stomach that I couldn't seem to shake. I paused a few seconds more, preened my mane once more before opening the door and held my breath as I stepped inside. The room was dark, lights were flashing and towards the middle of the floor, there was a mass of ponies dancing. To the left side of the room I spotted a few ponies from my group of friends, but one pony seemed to be missing! I felt the pressure in my chest reside at the thought of this. Good, she's not here. Nothing to worry about then. I stretched my wings, feeling my body relax more as I trotted to the group of ponies chatting in the corner.

As her ears slowly adjust to the sounds around her, the humming of several monitors surround her body. It is impossible to hear anything, her friends, the doctor's voice, through her blurry eyes, she notices an absence of a certain orange earth-pony. With her entire life ripped from her back, Rainbow Dash must learn how to handle her now earth-pony life, all while Applejack is simply trying to be able to look her dear friend in the eyes without the overpowering guilt bringing her to her knees.

With gloom on the rise and guilt consuming, is there any way these friends can repair themselves without hurting one another?

A few days after Rainbow Dash had returned to Ponyville, she was reunited with her dad again, but this time, her father isn't her dad anymore.

I will be placing this on Hiatus as I am currently busy with my stuffs now and has returned back to school, hopefully I could get the 3rd chapter by July the earliest.

The crash was bad. Her wings were fractured in many spots. She wasn't going to heal in a couple days. Instead, it was going to take her 6 months. Six months without flying, there was nothing more uncool, unawesome, and unradical. That was until she chose to stay with Applejack and her family. Broken wings left a hole, one that could only be filled, evidently, by Applejack.

Applejack has problems, problems she has never revealed. As a strong, dependable pony, she has always managed to deal with them on her own. But now, having broken down in her friend's presence, she's not so certain of her strength - and more and more troubles appear...
