This is the story of the end. This is the story of the death of Equestria. It is the story of the reign of her royal majesty, Princess Twilight Sparkle of the Fading Sun.

The alicorn sisters are dead and Equestria has turned to Twilight Sparkle to guide it. However, just maintaining a dim sun a fraction as bright as her mentor's keeps the new princess near her limits.

Years have passed and Twilight Sparkle is sure of only one thing. Equestria is dying.

NOTE: Written before "It's about Time" in season 2. Everything after "Read it and Weep" was ignored throughout this story.

When your life is as dull a gray as the world that surrounds you, the mundanities can make it all seem meaningless. Sometimes all we need is a little color -- or six -- to reintroduce us to what truly makes life worth living.

A joyous event in Ponyville leads to the return of an ancient and terrible power, one that has not been seen since before the formation of Equestria. Twilight and her friends are called upon to utilise their powerful bonds of friendship to stop the ancient evil from covering all the land in darkness, but even the Elements of Harmony wont be enough to help them this time! With the help of some old friends and new, the ponies set out on a long and perilous journey, that will put their lives on the line! Will they be able to save their home and keep the bonds of their friendship strong... and will Twilight ever see Spike again!?

"Did you miss me, Celestia? I've missed you. It's quite lonely being encased in stone. But you wouldn't know that, would you, because I don't turn ponies into stone!" Discord's words rang in everypony's head at that moment, but were soon forgotten in the midst of his chaos. It is only Twilight Sparkle who has been constantly bothered by his words, relentlessly reminded of them no matter how hard she tries to forget. Now she must seek out somepony close to her, to find out if there is truth in his words.

Instead of being killed in the cold Antarctic by Dr. Manhattan, Rorschach finds himself rematerialized in a strange new, pony filled world. He finds himself drawn into the lives of the ponies of Ponyville but some ponies fear that this sociopath will bring danger and darkness to an otherwise peaceful existence. Will the mane 6 help Walter Kovac find peace within himself or will he bring them all down with him in his cold views of reality and existence?
