All across Equestria, ponies begin to notice the difference in the night. Do they appreciate it? Or do they want things to go back to the way they were during Luna's banishment?

Eight years have passed, and Doctor Sparkle has successfully concocted the TS8 Formula, a potion that can separate the natures of goodness and evil that lurk within the hearts of us all.

All that remains is a small test to prove that both the Formula and such a separation are conclusive. Everything will be certainly fine . . . right?

Many people know my father, Sombra, for all that he did to the Crystal Empire when he was king. But what others don't know what he was like before he ruled, or how he reached the rank in the first place. It's a lot different than people might think.
However, they all know that he was defeated by Princess Luna and Celestia - or so they think.

Dusty Tomes, a historian and archaeologist at the Trottingham Museum of Equestrian History, explores a tomb said to have been dated to Pre-Banishment Era. What he finds, proves that. However, it also disproves much of what he grew up to believe in.

Stan was one of the lucky ones to make it out of the Canterlot disaster unscathed, unfortunately for him that means he now has to deliver a treaty to the princess.
Who happens to be one of his most deepest darkest fears.

A day before Sombra's and Chrysalis's wedding, and Sombra feels a dark power outside of their home.

Realizing this could aid them in having their revenge on the ponies that killed him and most of her children, they agree to venture out and find the source.

But when they arrive, they realize that a lot of things have changed. They have been forgotten, the ponies seem to be more afraid of this centaur like creature, their mortal enemy is an alicorn now, and no one seems to care that they're trying to take over Equestra again.
