Rainbow Dash hates getting up early to go through such a tedious routine. It's a waste of valuable time. She could be sleeping or enjoying a few extra moments with her marefriend in their nice, warm bed.

Of course, that doesn't mean she can't have a bit of fun with it.

For years, Rainbow Dash has adored Pinkie from afar. For years, she hasn't been able to muster the courage in order to actually come and approach Pinkie.

Now it's her birthday, and Pinkie has taken it upon herself in order to throw the Pegasus' latest bash.

Is Rainbow's time finally here? Or does Pinkie not love her back?

This story is a sequel to Not Such a Newbie

Several months after Soarin nervously asked Rainbow Dash out on a date, the two of them are enjoying a happy, healthy relationship with one another. Rainbow Dash gets to be with one of the most kind, loving and loyal stallions she's ever met, not to mention a fellow Wonderbolt, and Soarin get to be with the mare of his dreams. Yet when he takes her out drinking one night, he finds out just how adorably troublesome she can be.

Reading Not Such a Newbie is not required to understand this story.

At the time, it seemed like a great idea; seemed like the perfect way to teach Rainbow Dash a lesson. With a racing heart and rising guilt, surely she would up and learn her lesson. It's a totally understandable situation, isn't it?

But when things go south, maybe it'd be better to lie and say nothing at all. Still, what happens when Rainbow finds out?
