    Cynewulf is in trouble

A dear friend of mine, our own Cynewulf, mistress of the morose and the philosophical, apologist of the astounding and whimsical, has gotten a kick in the gut courtesy of fate and capitalism. Monochromatic has the details here, and is doing a fund raiser

    Well, this is strange...

So guys, today I came home to find some no doubt dashing and handsome stranger had left me a package! But that's not all! This most probably charming and brilliant man left me a package sent to me from the Russian Federation!

Well. Only one way to solve this! Better open her up!

    It (was) my Birthday!

'allo Fimfic, yesterday was Homestuck Day! Happy Homestuck Day to all the Vriska Stans in the audience!

But also; it was my birthday.

I would have posted yesterday, but I've been in a daze for the last two days because yesterday was also the day I got my second vaccination shot.

Announcing: The Shelf Cleaning Initiative · 10:26pm Jan 15th, 2016

So, things have been... eh, it's a long story.

Needless to say, it's been a while and beyond a few posts a year ago I haven't done much on the "getting pony things to the public" front. Part of that was that I was actually writing stories, but becoming discouraged with the feedback the pre-readers were giving me. A few times I was even told the basic frame of the story was flawed more or less beyond repair. So I gave up on those stories, letting them languish in Gdocs forever.

Well, recently, I got into this again and hit my face on the same rock wall, but this time, when I confessed my discouragement to my pre-readers, they told me giving up was the wrong option. That a flawed published story was better than a flawed unpublished one. So, I talked with a couple of them about this, and decided, based on their advice, that I would make an effort to clear out my backlog of "finished" fics that I never had the heart to put out there.

So, there will hopefully be a string of "new" releases from me, one of which will (hopefully) actually be new in the next few days. That said, reader beware: these are not stories I really felt comfortable releasing until now. Some are flawed, some are weirdly personal, and some are just old, written for a different zeitgeist and by a different person. Still, there may be someone out there for each of these stories. Someone who would benefit from reading them, and if that's true, well, it's a success then. Maybe not the one I wanted for these stories, but a success none the less.

Having just edited the first of these stories a bit, I am going to begin putting it together for production as soon as this post goes live.

Thank you all for your patience and for sticking with me this long.

Take care, and may you have a wonderful day.

Edit: Since people keep reading this post, I figured I would include an index of all the stories and posts that are part of the Shelf Cleaning Initiative. They are, as follows;

A Proper Mare
Perfect Justice
You Only Get One First Time
So You've Just Slept With Your Best Friend (Impetus for, but not part of)
Bonus Round Part 1: The Writing Exercise Time Forgot
Bonus Round Part 2: Average Day Dramatis Personae

Thank you, my friends, my fans, my viewers, and my commentators, all very much for making this a success.

How many more of these do you have built up, anyway?

I was going to make a blog post, but that's more or less it. I have one other unpublished story, but it doesn't really count as it's nowhere near finished. I may make a blog post about it, or, god knows, actually write it!
