This story is on indefinite hiatus. I've grown out of MLP and this story. What's there is yours to read, however updates may never happen, as much as it pains me to admit.

My name is Aideen; I know, I know, it's a stupid name for a pony, and if you pronounce it wrongly it even sounds male, but let's not get sidetracked here. I've lived through multiple mental breakdowns and severe physical beatings, but who hasn't in the dear wastelands? I can, however, claim that I'm a unique nutcase; there's something that differentiates me from the regular nutcases out there: The same evil entity that transformed Princess Luna into Nightmare Moon once upon a time wants me to be her new host.

A changeling named Hunter and his band of misfits go out into the wastelands of equestria, exploring the secrets that both the past and present hold, and learning more about himself and his friends as his adventure goes on.

Some time before LittlePip's emergence, Dazzling "Dodo" Dusk, the only pegasus mare of Stable 96, driven with her lust for adventures, comes outside into snowy mountains of Northern Equestria where she meets Jester, a chaotic and joyful half-zebra mare. Together, they start their quest for ancient Equestrian history and mythology, when they suddenly have to confront a powerful fraction which seeks a great secret of the past to use in their own favor.

I was always told that the world below was barren and fallow. Poisoned. Unfit for life. I always believed that, trusted that. In my ignorance, I had no recourse but to believe that. Then, one day, I saw for myself that the world below our bountiful field of clouds wasn’t quite so dead as I’d been told. For a mare born without the wings so many around me took for granted, a little dirt under my hooves seemed like an impossible dream.

Abandoning everything I knew to take the plunge, to go down from our cities in the clouds and mountain hideaways and find my home again wasn’t exactly fun, but I don’t regret it.

It was the single best decision of my life.

This story (which can be best described as a Coming-of-Age/Teen Romance/Drama Masquerading as Fallout) takes place about 15 years before the events of Fallout: Equestria, although it contains only a few direct references to events/canon from it. To Bellenast is my attempt to portray a part of the pony world where the apocalypse truly happened nearly two centuries prior, and as such, ponykind--or, at least, those portions of it far away from the most ravaged and blasted ruins of the old world--has grown and moved past those early days of scavenging, abundant hostility, and mere survival. Here, ponies don’t survive, but live. Here, there is peace, there is government, there are treaties and trade roads, medicine and commodities--and banditry, thievery, and wanton violence are the exception, not the norm.

All of this is told through the eyes of one young mare who really would rather have nothing to do with anything exciting or violent. I’ve tried to write it in a way that doesn’t require one to have read the original Fallout: Equestria, although why you might have found yourself here without having read it first, I would be curious to know.

I hope you enjoy the story. As of [November 2023-whenever-2024], I am rewriting some of the most problematic portions of the first half of the story, to better match them thematically and in quality with what I’ve written most recently.

The entirety of Equestria has been destroyed. A nuclear war has devastated the land, and the ponies of the land. The once beautiful kingdom is reduced to a toxic, mutated hell that was once a home for all the creatures living there. But, through all of this death and destruction, some ponies still remain. Small settlements grow, some with only one or two houses, and others, with buildings that resemble what used to stand in that spot. No settlements are more impressive than that of New Canterlot. It is built on the old ruins of Canterlot, and many trade caravans are based in it. It has grown wealthy through trade, and because of that, factions try to gain control of it. Full out war erupts between two factions, the Steel Rangers and the Old Kingdom Party. There is war in the wastelands of Equestria, and it is up to one stallion to end it.

Inside these stables had all the resources and technology stockpiled, all the things that seemed necessary for survival were inside those...but did you ever thought that an essential part of that machinery could broke and somepony had to search for the replacement part trough the dangerous and unforgiving equestrian Wasteland?
Well our story is about an young pony that received this quest, his journey through the harsh wastes to find the piece of technology that will save his stable is a long road, and every long road has it challenges...will he be able to overcome these challenges and save his stable in time? My name is... well I don't remember, I don't remember much of anything, actually. However, there are a few things I know. I know there was a war 200 years ago that left Equestria nothing more than an irradiated pit. I know the Equestria that's left is filled with dangers. And I know I'm going to need help to find out who I am. This is a world I'm going to have to go out into.

I am going to find out what happened to me, and why it happened. Then I'm going to make whoever did this pay. That is, assuming I live long enough to find a clue...

After almost everyone in her stable is killed by raiders, Diamond Sky sets out to find the three other survivors who escaped. With the help of her new friends, an extremely strong earth pony, and an eccentric unicorn, can she cope with her loss, find the survivors of the massacre, and learn to find beauty in the bleakest of places?
