Anyway, hi! I'm back from conventioning and almost almost back in a position where I can settle down life-wise. July's been cray-cray. A couple of updates before I decide what sort of b-day dinner to indulge myself in.
BronyCon:
I will talk about BronyCon--I kind of can't not--but I'm still turning it over in my mind. It was a life experience like none other, which covered the entire emotional spectrum. I say none of this lightly, and I loved meeting each and every single one of you that I did there, without exception.
That said, I've had a Memory Stone implanted in my head all of my life, and it activates every night while I sleep. Meaning I don't do full convention recaps because trying to fight my innate forgetfulness causes me literal pain. So when my recap does go up, it'll likely be a more personal one a la the Everfree blog I did in May.
With Regards to Blooming:
Blooming is a story in two halves, and the final chapter of the first half is in the final stages of prosing (I legit have, like, five paragraphs left). Once it's done, I will post it--don't worry, it's on the long side. After that, the second half begins production amidst my other stories. I will wait until I've got a buffer again before posting that second half, but I'll of course give you all a heads up.
Regardless, The Hiatus is almost upon us.
If you've enjoyed Blooming so far--first off, thanks from the bottom of my heart. It's been really, really fun watching your reactions and speculations--I haven't really done this updating-soap-opera business before this year like so many of this site's more famous authors, so it's kind of a trip. 
A good one, though. So many of you are smart cookies and are grasping the story's purpose bit by bit and it's fun to watch aaaaaaaaaaaa.
Secondly, yes, while this is meant to be enjoyed as a standalone, I do personally consider Being Juniper Montage to be in canon with Blooming, so feel free to give yourself some background edumacashun on how Juniper got to where she is now while you wait for Blooming Part 2!
Finally, if you've been waiting for a good chunk of text to happen (or even the whole thing) before diving into the story proper, this is the best time to do it.
That Contest Thing What Just Got Announced:
Since some are already asking me: still undecided.
On the one hand, Shipping Sunset = always fun and I can do it in my sleep with literally any female member of the cast even if I had The Internet(tm) pick it.
On the other: looking at the rules, my modus operandi may well be too fluffy for the proceedings. 
In all seriousness, I'll look into it, if only for the sheer joy of writing an obscure Sunset ship or being the only one dumb enough to write SciSet even when the entire site is flooded with it already I haven't decided XD.

I've been watching Ryuki and just saw Knight go Survive form for the first time. And I said to myself, if there is a transforming Darkraider toy out there, I want it.

Huh, Blooming seemed to be in the opening act still for me. It feels like they just met up, but maybe that was the intent of the first part? Regardless, I look forward to more.
And do let me know *or, just blog it*, if you ever decide to list out those mlp shorts in order, I am curious what the story long reaching story between those were, or were to even see it.
I might prod you on thoughts for the contest later if you are okay with that, I am a bit lost and only have a month to write something for it.

It took me a few minutes to find what everyone was talking about, and then I did and felt tremendously silly.
If this goes anything like last year, you've got your work cut out for you. People brought the heat in terms of quality and obscurity, often at the same time.

* Legit that Trixie/Starlight toy is maybe the single best piece of merchandise G4 has yet produced; are there any other Fan Series toys out/announced yet? 'Cuz that is some high-quality stuff on a NUMBER of levels.
* I'll be SUPER curious to hear your BronyCon thoughts if indeed you decide to put them down. Even as I've never really considered going (though the chance to meet you there tempted me but good I won't lie), it's easily been one of the most fascinating fan-cons to observe from the outside for me; I have a cousin who's gone more than once so hearing about it really piqued my intrigue, and as always I think you have a pretty insightful point of view so yours is an opinion I'd very much want to hear on the whole thing.
* I really appreciate the effect "Blooming"'s publishing schedule has had on the feel of the story honestly; part of me does wish I could binge-read it the way I did "Being Juniper Montage" but, given the particular nature of the story's emotional and thematic arcs thus far, I actually think the gradual progress has been to the story's benefit; much as Wallflower herself is slowly but surely working through the various layers of her own self-protection so too are we the readers taking that journey along with her at a similar pace that allows us to more fully appreciate each of its individual steps. Plus it's just been adorable and enjoyable as all heck. <3 I'm curious though; is "Blooimng Part 2" going to be its own story? Or just how you're referring to the next phase of chapters that will begin once the hiatus concludes? I mean I'm cool with either but one of those options DOES mean I should be ready to start working on my full review soon so I just wanna be sure. x3

* Interesting; from what I'm seeing it's mostly a sub-set of the "Guardians of Harmony" line (the Starlight/Trixie one is the only one I've seen yet that doesn't share that designation) so that's probably why I didn't realize some of the toys in it are in fact part of it; I'd seen the Twilight/Tempest one before and the Celestia one looks (gorgeous and) familiar too.
* Good t'know though given the length/structure here I'm half-tempted to make a review at the hiatus point anyway but we'll see how things shake out when we get there. x3

Holy crap I didn't realize just how much there was now. I knew of the other movies, but there's like a million shorts too. It's gonna take awhile for me to sort through all of those, but if anything maybe I'll just watch the movies sometime.
