    Hey, folks. This thing on?

So I was originally trying to write this big essay blogpost about where I've been and the future of Bookish and all that, but... it didn't pan out. So we'll do the much, much shorter version that should still tell you what's important.

    WELCOME TO THE FUTURE

Did you think it was over

...yeah, that's fair, so did I. Still need to talk about that when I'm able. Until then...

    ELa Famille Royale
The Zephyr Heights royals just helped change the world. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time they've done so, and they'll have to answer for that... just as soon as they work on themselves.

    Question For the Crowd!

What, in your opinion, are Equestria's most significant locations? (i.e. Canterlot, Cloudsdale, etc.)

Please keep it to... oh, top 7, and excluding Ponyville/the Everfree Forest.

Thanks to all who answer!

(sort of)

Hey, folks. This thing on?

So I was originally trying to write this big essay blogpost about where I've been and the future of Bookish and all that, but... it didn't pan out. So we'll do the much, much shorter version that should still tell you what's important.

Let's just say life's been an equal amount of cool awesomeness and intense pain, healing and working on myself, and, uh, utter paralyzing fear of the world around me. Nothing's normal as I knew it anymore, and I'm going to have to work with it.

I also have some pretty huge news:
I'm packing up from Fimfiction and moving over to AO3.

Why?
The full story is a tome long and years in the making, but boiled down, it's health reasons, straight up.
Please don't probe about thisβ€”it's entirely personal stuff on my end that doesn't involve any third parties (though, as I have said in numerous blogs before this one, the overall atmosphere of this particular site has never, ever helped), my reasons are my own, and unless I know you in real life, I won't have the spoons or the context to talk about it anyway.
In any case, it's either I leave Fimfiction and its aforementioned overall atmosphere, expressly for my well-being, or I don't write pony anymore. Seeing as I still WANT to write pony, quite badly--heck, more than ever now that G5 is on the horizon--well, sacrifices gotta be made. πŸ˜‚

And in that vein, I look forward to (not a promise) being able to publish more frequently. I've never stopped writing, even over the last few years, but what you've seen published on this site is a fraction of what I've actually been working on. I hope to finally post more WIPs, and finish them at my own pace. I've learned that while some people greatly prefer completed works, just as many or even more don't mind waiting for completion, and are just happy to read new words when they show up period, so I don't mind delivering on either of those fronts as long as it stays healthy for me.
It also means you might see me do stuff for other fandoms. Let me know if that is something you'd like to see, or if you're just here for the horses and horsegirls, that's valid too lol. Alts exist for a reason ;)

Alritey, fair enough. So, wat do? how follow? And what about the MCU?
Half of my overall catalogue from this site has already been on AO3 since a couple of years ago, including the Montage Cinematic Universe in its entirety! I'll be taking a few more of my stories from here, a "best of" collection from over the years, and putting them over there as well.
Meanwhile, new stories going forward will be exclusively on AO3 (and possibly Offprint, I'm still vetting that site on a personal level, and will let folks know if I decide to commit to it).

If you want to follow me on AO3, it'll be pretty easy if you get an invitation to sign up to the site (literally a one-click dealie that requires a valid email address). AO3 lets users subscribe to other users; all you have to do is click a button and you're good via email alerts. I have turned anon story comments off because of past events, so you'll also have to make an account on the site if you want to leave comments on my fics.
Anons can leave kudos (i.e. likes) though.

Will you keep us posted on new happening/stories with blogs here, at least?
I don't know. Probably not, though.

You're not deleting anything here, are you?
Naw. Not much of a point, really.

How can I talk to you otherwise?
- I'll be turning off PM alerts, so that's not a good way anymore to do so.
- Plain ol' email has always been there.
- I'll also be making every effort to go to any Everfree Northwest that comes down the pike, until I say otherwise, and I L O V E meeting fans and fandom friends there, so if you see me, you know what to do. Heck, I'm starting to think I should just go seek people out instead of waiting for them to come to me. :D
Speaking of which, on a happier note, yeah--I really, REALLY enjoyed meeting everyone that I did at this past Everfree. Gonna be real--I didn't expect people to still care about me, to say nothing of the new generation of fans to know who the hell I was. You all know who you are, and if I did meet you, I love you and would love to dork out about life, ponies and everything if you wanna tap me. For those I haven't met yet, I look forward to doing so!
- Finally, I'm technically on Discord (don't ask πŸ˜„), and I'm technically part of a couple of servers, but I... never found myself a good fit for the servers I did find myself invited to. I know it's self-deprecation, but I feel like I'm just too different, too weird, even for us weirdos, and I might try again to integrate myself, but... I don't know how and I've sorta given up lol. I'm a low-key attention-hog who adores the characters everyone hates, and there's no way for me to change that. :D

Anything else?
That's all, folks. I'll be putting up a sign on the front page that says the gist of all these things, and any links you can find my stuff going forward. Anyone who wants to keep tabs is welcome; for everyone else, I totally understand.

Thanks for the ride so far, heartbeats. See you on the next one.

Take it easy, and thanks for the stories you've written over the years!

I've only ventured over to AO3 a handful of times at best, but I bookmarked your profile just now. :twistnerd:

Thanks for update, sorry to hear things have been rough on you.

Definitely subscribing on AO3 and hope things improve for you.

Thanks for the update Bookish. I'll tag your profile on AO3, and I look forward to seeing what you come up with next.

Best of luck!

So long and thanks for all the pone!

Best of wishes for the future, Bookish. Gonna bookmark your page and stalk follow you as soon as I get the invitation!

Best of luck to you on AO3 :)

Best of luck. Do what you need to do for you.

Take care, and best of luck going forwards! AO3 is an excellent site. :twistnerd:

I'm a fan of offprint, personally. Especially since I learned that there pretty much isn't a Pony readership on AO3. Like, wow.

A bunch of us who are tired of the atmosphere and policy here are moving to a new site that has better policies to keep out the nazi pedos: https://offprint.net/

If the choice is you staying here or you not writing anymore, it's literally not a choice at all; whatever Bookish needs to do to keep being Bookish, that's the right choice, always and always. I'll always treasure the time we've had on this website; it's not exactly where we met (I believe THAT honor belongs to the legendary Pit Of Voles itself X3), but it's DEFINITELY where we got to know each other best, and that is legitimately one of the most valuable contributions a Fandom Site has ever made to my life. I'll absolutely be following you to AO3 (where I've set up shop, such as it is, myself, in fact X3), and I very much look forward to getting to read and love your stuff there every bit as much as I did here.
To The Journey.

Memo to self: make an account on AO3.

Glad you're still writing

Best of luck to you! I will have to check up on your A03 when I get a chance. Hope to see you around sometime.
