Starlight Sparkle is the son of Twilight Sparkle and her husband James. After the defeat of The Master, he stopped traveling with his parents to live in Ponyville as the new teacher at the Ponyville Schoolhouse. With his sisters Rei and Del, brother Satsuma, fillyfriend Apple Bloom and all their friends, they will live their lives, find new loves and experience all the joys life has to offer. Come join them.
Setting: Approximately a eight years after the end of the series and seven years after The Wandering Physicist Adventures. No backtracking required as referenced events are linked in chapter!

To new readers: These were written as an ongoing serial. The individual story does not necessarily carry chapter to chapter, but the continuing story and events carry over. Feel free to skip around the chapters without losing too much continuity.

Most changelings have horns, likely so they can do their transformation magics. Del has a more changeling queen-like appearance now too.

first read through, i liked it.
the first chapter was a bit shaky, i was not sure what to make of starlight and satsuma(still the best name ever). after the first chapter however it just got better and better.
overall i could really get behind this series, even with the lack of TWP.

Exploring their relationship is one of the things I cover throughout the series. Some stereotypical brotherly bickering. Some contrasting behaviors.
And like TWP, there are some weaker chapters and some stronger ones. Unlike TWP, each chapter will have significance for the overall story. One of the benefits of spending a year in production.

I just noticed the Cake Twins tag from the recent batch of new tags. You don't know how happy that makes me.
As you can probably tell, the Cake Twins are going to appear a lot. They are in about 1/2 of the first 15 chapters with many more appearances after that. Way more appearances than Pinkie would have made.
If only there were a tag combining all the foals into one...

I only update my deviantArt with sketches on a monthly basis. In a weird way, mass updates save me more time than individual updates do for regular artists.

My recent confusion has been that a lot to most of the canon male characters in the series have slicked-back manes. I don't know why that freaked me out when I noticed it. (I also noticed that Shining Armor and Starlight have the same mane design, but that is another story.)
Also, thanks for the compliment about the chapter. Editing it was tough since the ending always gets to me, though I also always laugh that Dash is the first one to start swearing
Last and in general, I hope these first ten chapters have displayed the range of stories this series will have. I will be focusing on a lot of different characters while trying to stick to the slice of life comedy theme for the most part. The grande arcs are more subtle, but they are there (first one taking 34 chapters to complete).
This is just a fun little romp of a series/story and I hope the wonderful readers who give it a shot will enjoy it.
