Burraku_Pansa

A man who doesn't write half of his stories half as often as he should like, and writes less than half of them half as well as they deserve.

Gout would one day become a figure of great importance to dragonkind, a paragon of the natural order, full of righteous anger and a healthy greed. But everyone must have their beginnings, and Gout’s are here, in this cave, with this mission and this friend.

I'll note that I find the existing Author's Notes functionality hideously obtrusive, so here's this.

This story is and has been marked as On Hiatus from the moment of its posting (a moment which has yet to come, as I type this) only because it feels incomplete, but I don't currently have any plans to continue it. I apologize if you happened to have enjoyed it, but as of this moment, it was just a fun little thing I wrote for a contest, and there's no pressing need for me to turn it into a full story.

Personally I enjoyed this story, short and sweet but to it's point. A foreshadowed hero is certainly a unique idea. I give it three moustaches :moustache::moustache::moustache:

Oh, but there is a pressing need. There is interesting potential here. Do go on.

It's pretty good!

Just stumbled on this today, and, even if you do not continue it, it was a very interesting vision of dragon-kind and an enjoyable read.

Given that you don't plan to expand this story, I don't know if you care, but

It does not seem seem so noble, now…

The "seem"s seem to be reproducing on their own.

Dang it. I remember rewriting that sentence a few times for whatever reason—I must have added in an extra seem at some point… Ah well. Thanks for that, and thanks especially for the watch, oldster!

I do intend to continue this at some point, actually. The thing is, though, that these two stories of mine are going to be taking precedence, as I've actually got a solid plan for where I want to take each. Beyond having Gout in the dungeon and a few possible endings, I've got nothing for this story just yet.

Thanks again, man, and apologies in advance for how long it takes me to come out with anything new.

I'm glad this will continue, even if in slow motion. I usually don't go for multichapter epics, I prefer nice tight short stories, but I had to drop into this story simple because of the read count: frequently large read counts are counter indicative of quality. I look forward to seeing what you have up for this civilized dragon world.

It's good to hear you have an ending in mind, even if the middle is uncertain, as there are far too many stories here that may have good starts, but end up lost in the wilderness of the second act and are never finished. One of pet peeves about this place.

And on the subject of double words: in the feelin' section on your home page, "considered" seems to have cloned itself as well. It must be due to having a nearby "seem".

oldster

My beard has been as long as yours, but never as white! (yet)

I've been writing it, but at this point, I'd rather have it all finished before I post the rest. No sense getting people's hopes up only to have to wait another long while for more updates.
