A man who doesn't write half of his stories half as often as he should like, and writes less than half of them half as well as they deserve.

The best view you could ever ask for, all clear skies and sprawling plains and forests. History baked into every brick and stained into every pane of glass. Streets paved—sometimes literally—with gold.

But then there's the ponies.

I really do hate this place.

Rated Teen for mild language. Marked On Hiatus because I have no immediate plans to continue it.

Written for the Circleship Collab. Click here for full details and links to the collab's other stories; a number are gems. Thanks go to the wonderful JohnPerry for looking my story over for the collab.

color me intrigued if you're going the Flash x anyone but Twilight route. I'm curious. probably a good way to soften the blow.

I do like the interaction between him and Mac though.

Wait. I totally thought you'd finished this thing. Damn, son, what happens next? There's like a hundred barns in Ponyville waiting for two hot stallions to go inside and discuss their feelings over drinks.

I like the idea that Flash is from some small town, too -- the benefits of a tabula rasa are a lot of fun to play around with.

Heh, I've been saying that mine's not as finished as it could be either. If you look through my stories, you'll probably realize that just about everything I write tends to have an open ending (whether I mean it to or not, matter of fact). Because of how well-received this already seems to be, though—or at least how much folks from the collab said they liked it—it's likely going to get a continuation at some point.

Thanks very much for the kind words.

Beep, even if I didn't actually meet you at Bronycon, that will not prevent me from finding you and dangling you out a window next to Couch if you don't finish this. >:|

Heehee. Other things have higher priority, but it'll see an extension at some point.

3388300 I READ ALL M/M FICS!!!! Oh that's a story abou his sister and them leaving the farm and ponyville and stuff I might read it but M/M FICS ALWAYS COME FIRST!!

I'm very happy that you liked the story as much as you seem to have, man. Still, I've got to apologize for the wait you're going to have to go through; there's other stories I've got going that have needed continuations for far longer.

I get the sense that you might just be here for the Big Mac, but if you're cool with other characters, I might recommend giving some of my other stories a shot, as they're likely to be updated sooner than this. To Glimpse a Wider World is the next thing I've slated to get an update (and a big one, somewhere from 20-30k words), so if you're down for it, I'd suggest that story.

This was really well done. I love the idea behind this, the pairing, and that it all come together in a neat little package. Well done sir!:ajsmug:

Ah, sorry to disappoint, then. This is the only one of those I have.

Happy you liked it, Sirius. Thank you.

Favourited because if this ever continues, I want to know.

"Jack Flash" would be a cool shipping pair name. Especially if there's jumping involved.

I thought the interactions between Big Mac and Flash Sentry was very nicely handled! It's got that realistic, somewhat heartwarming sort of feel. Maybe it's easy to relate to as well. However, I think describing stuff through Flash isn't as great as getting it firsthand as the reader.
When I was reading the synopsis, I somehow thought this was a HiE fic. xD

Very nicely done. Bravo.

Oh man, this is great.

This was beautiful, and obscenely underrated. Thank you for writing this, and I hope you decide to continue it sometime, but no matter how long the wait, I'm sure it will be worth it.

YES WELL WRITTEN FLASH SENTRY.

Damn. I really hope you continue this. We need more good Flash stories on this site, and this one is wonderful so far.

Part of me wishes people didn't like this one as much as they seem to; it's always been the story of mine that I've had the most trouble writing. Still, though, Top Favorites, huh? I'll have to live up to that.

I'm sure you will. Take as much time as you need to continue this. I'll still be here, and I'm sure I won't be alone. :raritywink:

*Leans back and sighs contendedly*

I'm actually not sure what to call what I just read. A quick character study? A diet-sized slice of life? Whatever, it was good. I can't quite point it out, but there's something about this story that just...

You ever read a story that makes you look at all the other stories you've read recently like there's something wrong with them? This is one of those. I think it's all the little touches, like Flash having an original town to be from or the imagery used to describe the restaurant and the food.

Obs was right, you do deserve more attention than you get. It's probably because most of your stories are short and contest-entry-ish like this one.
